Abstract

The invention relates to an arrangement for transmitting consumption meter readings, particularly current meter readings, to an energy supply company (EVU). The arrangement comprises at least two consumption meters, each having a communication unit forming an ad hoc wireless network. One of the meters is further connected to the EVU. Read-out meter data is communicated to the meter connected to the EVU via the network, and provided to the EVU from that location. According to the invention the wireless network is a sensor radio network, while the communication units are sensor radio network units.
