Abstract

 反射光の利用効率に優れた高画質の反射型又は半透過型の液晶表示装置を低コストで提供する。  本発明の液晶表示装置は、複数の画素を備え、前記複数の画素のそれぞれの中に入射光を表示面に向けて反射させる反射部を有する液晶表示装置であって、前記反射部は、複数の開口部を有する金属層と、絶縁層を挟んで前記金属層の上に形成された反射層とを備えており、前記反射層の表面は、前記金属層の断面形状に応じて形成された複数の凹部又は凸部を有しており、前記金属層の前記複数の開口部のなかの隣り合う2つの開口部の間の距離のうち、最も短い距離が0.3μm以上3.0μm以下である。
