Description

Description
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING CASH AND ITEM USING GAME CARD HAVING CASH CARD FUNCTION
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a method and system for managing cash and an item using a game card having a cash card function. Background Art
[2] In human history, a play culture has a significantly long tradition, and the necessity may traverse nations, cultures, and races regardless of the progress of civilization. In general, as examples of the play culture, games having been conducted by at least two people or computer games oriented toward individuals due to popularization of computers along with the advent of the digital era may be given. It may be the current trend to enjoy online games via the Internet without distinction of age or sex, resulting from the development of the computer games.
[3] However, the online games may cause an extremely closed disposition due to severing of dialogue with other people including family members resulting from private and uninhibited tendencies, and thereby concerns of a detrimental influence, particularly on children, may occur. Therefore, there is a need for a new play culture enabled to be enjoyed by mingling with peers or family members.
[4] As examples of the new play culture, games using 'card' having been conducted by various cultures may be given, and the games using 'card' have been enjoyed by people as the play culture for a long time regardless of changes and trends of the times, as can be readily seen in poker and 'flower cards' of Korean playing cards.
[5] Currently, there is a trend that players and collectors exchange or trade cards having
'rareness' with each other as desired, and accordingly, 'trading card' collecting cards other than one's own cards and 'trading Card Game (TCG)' utilizing 'trading card' are begun in advanced countries where table culture has been conventionalized such as the US, England, Japan, and the like, and spread worldwide to thereby gain popularity.
[6] However, the trading card may be disadvantageously conducted only off-line, which results in limitations in satisfying various needs of users. Therefore, there arises a need for a scheme in which the trading card is used in the online game such as Kart Rider to thereby increase utilization of the trading card. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[7] An aspect of the present invention provides a game card having a cash card function which may simultaneously perform a game card function and a cash card function, thereby obtaining game cash while enjoying the game.
[8] Another aspect of the present invention provides a game card having a cash card function which may simultaneously perform a game play and obtain game cash, thereby increasing utilization of the game card.
[9] Still another aspect of the present invention provides a method and system for managing cash and an item using a game card having a cash card function, which may receive identification signal information included in the game card and register the corresponding cash information in a cash account of a user, thereby allowing the user to buy item information.

[43] Hereinafter, a method and system for managing cash and an item using the game card having the cash card function according to the present exemplary embodiment of the invention will be described in detail.
[44] According to the present exemplary embodiment of the invention, the game server may include a system which registers cash information using identification signal information of the game card having the cash card function, and registers item information using the registered cash information, thereby acquiring cash information and item information.
[45] FIG. 3 is a flowchart illustrating a method for managing cash and an item using a game card having a cash card function according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention.
[46] Referring to FIG. 3, in operation S310, the game server may receive identification signal information included in the second panel regions (see reference numerals 120 and 220 of FIGS. 1 and 2) of the game card. For example, in the case of a game server of a site of 'www.nexon.com', a user may access the site, and input the identification signal information through an identification signal input window. In this manner, the game server may receive the identification signal information inputted by the user.
[47] In operation S320, the game server may determine whether the user of the game card is to be registered in a game service of a second game. The second game may designate an on-line game (or off-line game) in which the identification signal information of the game card is effectively utilized, and the present invention may limit the on-line game for convenience of description.
[48] Specifically, the game server may perform a membership certification to check whether the user is registered as a member. For this purpose, the user may input a member Identification (ID) and a password in the game site linked with the game server.
[49] The game server may determine whether the user is registered in the game service through the performed membership certification, and perform operation S330 when the user is registered in the game service according to the determined result.
[50] Conversely, when the user is determined to be not registered in the game service according to the determined result, the game server may perform operation S340.
[51] Specifically, in operation S340, the game server may induce the user to register in the game service as a member, and receive, from the user, information required for joining as a member (for example, name, resident registration number, ID, password, and the like) to thereby permit the user to join as a member.
[52] At the time of joining as a member, the game server may assign a cash account to the user, and record information about the assigned cash account for each user in a database. Also, at the time of joining as a member, the game server may assign an item account to the user, and record information about the assigned item account for each user in the database.
[53] Next, the game server may perform operation S330. Specifically, in operation S330, the game server may extract cash information corresponding to the received identification signal information based on the database. The game server may record (store) information about the user, the identification signal information, cash information, and item information in the database at the time of joining as a member. Accordingly, the game server may retrieve and extract cash information corresponding to the identification signal information from the database, associate the extracted cash information with the information about the user, and record the associated information in the database.
[54] In operation S350, the game server may register the extracted cash information in the cash account assigned to the user. Specifically, the game server may associate the extracted cash information with the user and record the associated information in a cash account field within the database.
[55] In operation S360, the game server may select the item information according to the cash information. In this instance, the game server may select at least one item information selected by the user from among an item information list. Also, the game server may randomly select at least one item information from the item information list.
[56] Here, the game server may randomly select item information having value corresponding to that of the cash information from the item information list. Alternatively, the game server may randomly select item information having value less than that of the cash information.
[57] As an example, when the cash information is valued at 5,000 won, the game server may randomly select item information having value of 5,000 won from the item information list. As another example, when the cash information is valued at 5,000 won, the game server may randomly select item information having value of 3,000 won less than 5,000 won from the item information list.
[58] In this manner, when randomly selecting the item information, the game server may deduct cash information corresponding to value of the determined item information from the cash account of the user. For example, when the cash information is valued at 5,000 won, the game server may randomly select item information having value of 3,000 won, and deduct 3,000 won from the cash information of the user.
[59] In operation S370, the game server may register the selected item information in the item account assigned to the user. Specifically, the game server may associate the item information with the user, and register (store) the associated information in the item account field within the database.

Specifically, the game server may perform a membership certification to check whether the user is registered as a member. For this purpose, the user may input a member ID and a password in the game site linked with the game server.
[63] The game server may determine whether the user is registered in the game service through the performed membership certification, and perform operation S430 when the user is registered in the game service according to the determined result.
[64] Conversely, when the user is determined to be not registered in the game service according to the determined result, the game server may perform operation S440.
[65] Specifically, in operation S440, the game server may induce the user to register in the game service as a member, and receive, from the user, information required for joining as a member (for example, name, resident registration number, ID, password, and the like) to thereby permit the user to join as a member.
[66] At the time of joining as a member, the game server may assign a cash account to the user, and record information about the assigned cash account for each user in the database. Also, at the time of joining as a member, the game server may assign an item account to the user, and record information about the assigned item account for each user in the database.
[67] In operation S450, the game server may extract free item information provided to the identification signal information using the identification signal information. Specifically, the game server may extract the free item information corresponding to the identification signal information from a free item information list where the free item information is provided for each of the identification signal information.
[68] In operation S460, the game server may register the extracted free item information in the item account assigned to the user. Specifically, the game server may associate the extracted free item information with the user, and record (store) the associated in- formation in an item account field within the database.
[69] Here, the free item information may include item information enabled to be acquired only through a game play. Obviously, the free item information may include item information enabled to be acquired even without (performing) the game play.
[70] In this manner, the game server may provide the free item information to the user for free, and thus readily acquiring the free item information only through buying the game card by the user. Specifically, the user may buy the game card having the cash card function, thereby acquiring item information incapable of being acquired through the game play, for free.
[71] The method for managing the cash and item using the game card having the cash card function according to the present exemplary embodiment of the invention may be recorded in a computer-readable recording media including program instructions to implement various operations embodied by a computer. The computer-readable medium may include program instructions, data files, a data structure or a combination thereof.
