Abstract

Various example embodiments are disclosed relating to route discovery and management in relay networks. In an example embodiment, a first message may be received (610) at a first network station in a wireless network. It may be determined (620) whether the received first message includes an identifier of a second network station indicating an attachment of a network node to the second network station. The received first message may be modified (630) to include an identifier of the first network station indicating an attachment of the network node to the first network station if it is determined that the received message does not include the identifier of the second network station. The received first message may be forwarded (640) to a third network station. Various techniques may also be provided for updating and managing a network topology, e.g. for discovering, updating, and selecting communication paths for network traffic.
