Abstract
The invention is an electronic device to measure muscle electrical activity in humans, horses and racing grey hounds. This particularly measures both the integrity of the musculotendonous apparatus comparing left side to right and damage to said apparatus. This invention records the data via electrodes which are especially placed across the musculotendonous apparatus in the human or horse or racing greyhound with (2) electrodes across the proximal part of the musculature and a third at the distal end including at the tendon. By this array of electrode placement integrity, damage, compared to our 'normal ranges', and recovery can be discerned. This invention can transmit data via radio transmitter or G.P.R.S to a computer device to display the assessments in graphic, numerical and dimensional form. The invention device is light weight and transportable and can be attached to a moving subject, thus allowing measuring in the subject's progress for instance in training and in muscle stress testing.

Detection of Muscular Disorders
Description
The Invention is an electronic device,to measur e,muscle electrical, activity in humans,horses,and racing grey hounds. This particularly measures both the integrity of the musculotendonous apparatus, comparing left side to right,and damage to said apparatus. This Invention records the data via electrodes which are especially placed across the musclotendonous apparatus in the human or horse or racing greyhound,with (2) electrodes across the proximal part of the musculature and a third at the distal endjncluding at the tendon.
By this array of electrode placement,integrity,daniagetoompared to our "normal ranges",and recovery can be discerned This Invention can transmit data via radio transmitter or G.P.R.S. to a' computer device, to display the assessments in graphic, numedcal,aπd the dimensional form. The Invention device is light weight and transportable, and can be attached to a moving subject, thus; allowing measuring in me subjects progress, for instance in training, and in muscle stress testing.
This Inventive device also assesses electrocardiometry, accelerometry, and audio signals, all transmitted in the same way. Claims
Claims We claim:
1) A system of measuring the effects of musculo - tendonous damage of a particular musculature, and the recovery of such damage by monitoring the electrical signal changes in the musculo - tendonous apparatus; said electrical signal changes detected by using a group of electrodes connected to an electronic device; said electronic device further able to connect to electrodes placed to detect electrocardiogram signals; said electronic device further able to connect to a microphone; said electronic device further able to connect to one or more accelerometers; said electronic device comprising of a power source and electronics with the ability to collect data from the said electrodes and sensors.
2) The system of claim 1 wherein the electrodes used to detect electrical signal changes comprise an array of three (3) for each musculature, two of which measure across the proximal part of the musculature, and a third "distal" electrode placed at the other end of the musculature or the tendon to which the musculature is attached.
3) The system of claims 1 and 2 wherein the said electronic device is able to receive data from a multiplicity of arrays of said electrodes used to detect electrical signals.
4) The system in claim 1 wherein the said electronic device is able to accept signals from more than one arrangement of the said electrodes placed to receive electrocardiogram signals.
5) The system in claim 1 wherein the said electronic device includes one or more analogue to digital converters.
6) The system in claims 1 to 5 wherein the said electronic device includes the ability to store the data collected from the said electrodes and sensors.
7) The system in claim 1 wherein the said electronic device includes a telecommunications interface device.
8) The system in claim 1 wherein the said electronic device may include a display.
9) The system in claim 1 wherein the said electronic device may include a keypad.
10) The system in claim 1 wherein the said electronic device includes a bandstop filter to reject mains interference from the said electrical signals.
11) The system in claim 1 wherein the said electronic device includes an electrical isolation barrier between itself and externally connected equipment.
12) The system in claim 1 wherein the said electrical signal changes do not have a fixed reference.
13) The system in claim 1 wherein the said electronic device is portable.
14) The system in claim 1 wherein the said electronic device may include a power source charging system.
15) The system in claim 1 wherein the said accelerometer may be used to measure the "gait" of the subject.
16) The system in claim 1 wherein the said microphone may be used to listen to the respiratory or bowel sounds of the subject.
17) The system in claims 1 to 6 wherein the said electronic device provides both the average and peak values of the said electrical signals.
18) The system in claims 1 and 2 wherein the said electrodes are placed on a modified E. C. G. gel.
19) The system in claim 2 wherein the said array of electrodes may be placed to detect "deep" muscle electrical signals.
20) The system in claim 3 wherein the said arrays of electrodes are placed to compare electrical signals between matching musculature from either side of the subject being tested.
21) The system in claim 3 wherein the said arrays of electrodes are attached to a rug.
22) The system in claim 3 wherein the said arrays of electrodes are held in place using "Velcro" fasteners.
23) The system in claim 4 wherein the said arrangement comprises a 6 lead chest format.
24) The system in claim 4 wherein the said arrangement comprises a Vl-AFV format.
25) The system in claim 7 wherein the said interface device comprises a serial connection device.
26) The system in claims 7 and 11 wherein the said serial connection device is electrically isolated from the said electronics.
27) The system in claims 1 to 6 and claim 8 wherein the said device may display the results of the assessment in a 3 dimensional format.
28) The system in claims 1 and 13 wherein the said electronic device may be strapped to the subject during testing.
29) The system in claims 11 and 14 wherein the said power source is disconnected from the said electronics during charge.
30) The system in claim 18 wherein the said gel does not dry out.
31) The system in claim 18 wherein the said gel does not allow significant interference by the hair on the skin of the subject.
32) The system in claim 21 wherein the said rug is fitted to the subject with the said attached electrodes in the correct location.
33 ) The system in any preceding claim wherein the said subject may be any mammal.
34) The system in claim 24 wherein the said serial connection device is connected to a digital communications device.
35) The system in claim 34 wherein the said digital communications device is a radio transceiver.
36) The system in claim 34 wherein the said digital communications device is a personal computer.
37) The system in claim 34 wherein the said digital communications device is a modem.
38) The system in claim 35 wherein the said radio transceiver communicates to another radio transceiver.
39) The system in claim 37 wherein the said modem is connected to another modem.
40) The system in claim 38 wherein the said radio receiver is connected to a personal computer.
41 ) The system in claim 39 wherein the said modem is connected to a personal computer.
42) The system in any of the preceding claims wherein the said data is communicated to the said personal computer.
43) The system in claim 42 wherein the said data is interpreted by the said personal computer and displayed in a graphical or three dimensional format.
