Abstract

The inventive connector (31) is used for a cable (24) consisting of a sensitive element (27) such as an optical fibre and a central wire (28) forming strengthening armour. Said connector comprises a conical part (5) in the form of a sleeve which is adapted in such a way that it encompasses and clamps said central wire (28) and is characterised in that said conical part (5) is embodied such that it is flexible and is enclosed by a clamping part (8) which is mounted slidingly with respect to said conical part (5) in such a way that a traction applied to the cable results in the relative displacement of the conical part (5) with respect to the clamping part (8) and the clamping of the conical part (5) to the central wire (28) is increased.
