Abstract

The invention relates to a novel method and the use thereof for the discovery of novel anti-microbial agents, characterised in that potential agents are simultaneously incubated with eukaryotic cells and non-viral microbes in a test composition, the viability of the eukaryotic cells is determined and subsequently those agents are selected for which the signal for the corresponding test composition is significantly larger than the mean value of the infection control at at least one concentration of the agent.
