Abstract

A linear generator having accelerating elements comprises magnetic elements and windings aligned along an axis and relatively moved. The accelerating elements are provided at ends of said axis and apply a repulsive force to the moving magnetic elements, so that the motion of said magnetic elements can be accelerated.

Description

LINEAR ELECTRIC GENERATOR HAVING ACCELERATING ELEMENTS
THAT APPLY A FOlέC IN ORDER TO REVERSE A, TRAVEL DIRECTION
AND ACCELERATE MAGNETIC ELEMENTS
Background of the Present Invention
1. Field of the invention
The present invention relates to a linear electric generatoi* having accelerating elements and, more particularly, to a linear electric generator wherein, magnetic elements and windings without permeability are relatively moved by an external motive force, such a&by internal force resulting from rhovemerit of the generator as it is carried. The accelerating elements are provided at the two ends of the relative movement of the magnetic elements and the windings, and the movement of the magnetic elements caused by the external force is accelerated by the rebounding force applied by the accelerating elements to the magnetic elements. In addition to reducing a diamagnetic effect on the magnetic elements, the induced electromotive force of the generator can be increased.
2. Description of the Related Art
A generator is a machine which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy and basically utilises Faraday's Law arid Lenz's Law to effect the generation of electricity.
There are a widό Variety of electric generators. In general, the generators are classified into rotary generator systems and linear generator systems.
For a common typp of rotary generator, the windings (stators) thereof are distributed around a circle arid a magnetic rotor is provided at the center thereof. In order to operate the generator, magnetic lines are introduced into the windings, and a permeable material: is provided such as, for example, a core inside the winding. However, this will generate an attractive force between the magnetic rotor and the permeablef material and therefore cause a resistance force against the rotation of the rotor. Moreover, during the rotation of the rotor, the shorter, the distance, the greater the number of magnetic lines of the stator windings that are crossed, and vice vςrsa. On the whole, the number of magnetic lines crossed is decreased and therefore, the induced electromotive force cannot be increase^.
For a linear electric generator, he magnetic elements and the windings are i linearly reciprocal motion against each other. In order to reduce the undesired magnetic resistance, a permeablς material is rarely^ rovided in the windings. However, because in a linear electric generatbr, the magnetic elements and the windings are moved in a relative direction, a diamagnetic effect is more or less in existence, which causes resistance to the ώiotion of the magnetic elements within the windings. Therefore, the induced electromotive force is lowered.
Summary of the Invention
The object of the present inventipn is, therefore, to provide a linear electric geηerator having accelerating elen ents wherein no permeable material is provided and thus the diamagnetic effect can be minimized. In addition, the accelerating rebounding elements are disposed at the two ends of the magnetic elements so that the linear motion of the magnetic elements within the windings, can be accelerated. Therefore, the resistance resulted from the diamagnetic effect can be reduced iri order to increase the induced electrical motive force.
Brief Description of Drawing
Fig. 1 is a schematic drawing t)f the linear electric generator having accelerating elements Recording to the present invention. Detailed Description of Preferred Embodiment
Referrnig. to Fig. 1, a linear electric generator having accelerating elements according to the present invention is shown by the main elements thereof. The linear electric generator 1 fnainly comprises a plurality of winding^ 11 with no permeable material. Magnetic elements 12 are disposed on the right and left sides of said windings 11 respebtively, and accelerating elements 13A, 13B are disposed on the sides of said magnetic elements 12 respectively.
In order to avoid the occurrence of undesired magnetic resistance, the windings 11 are not provided with permeable material. Since the relative motion of the magnetic elements and the windings results in a diamagnetic effect- a relative magnetic field occurs in the course of the linear motion of the magnetic elements, which will resist the linear motion of s^id magnetic elements. However, since accelerating elements 13 A, 13B are provided according to the present invention, during the return travel the magnetic elements 12 will collide with the accelerating elements 13A, 13B and tnus the rebounding of said magnetic elements 12 wilj be accelerated by the rebounding force, applied by the accelerating elements 13 A, 13B. Therefore, the above-mentioned resisting force is overcorne, and in addition tne magnetic. elements are accelerated even after a number of collisions and rebounds, so that a relatively high electromotive force can be obtained.
Said accelerating elements 13 A, 13B can be made of a material such as resilient rubber, springs,, a combination thereof, or the like, or madfe of a magnetic material or system which will generate a repulsive fprce against said niagnetic eletnents 12, or a combination of resilient and magnetic elements. The accelerating elements may also be part of a machine^ device, or system for generating the rebounding or repulsive forpe. However, during the motion, the magnetic elements 12 do ήbt come into contact with said magnetic material or system having a rebounding function, but are rebounded by the repulsive førce thereof.
Although specific embodiment has been illustrated arid described, it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that various modifications may be made without departing trotn the spirit which is intended to be limited solely by the appended claims.
