Abstract
The invention relates to an infrared ear thermometer comprising an infrared sensor unit which can be introduced into the auditory canal of the patient and oriented towards the eardrum, and an evaluation unit which is provided with a display. The inventive thermometer is embodied in the form of a stethoscope with an elastic stirrup piece, an infrared sensor unit being respectively arranged on the two ends of said stirrup piece.

Infrarot-Ohrthermometer sind in unterschiedlicher Ausgestaltung bekannt. Diese sind nach Art eines üblichen Fieberthermometers ausgebildet, sind an ihrem einen Ende jedoch mit einer j-nfrarot-Sensoreinheit versehen. Das Thermometer wird in das Innenohr des Patienten eingeführt und auf das Trommelfell ausgerichtet. Diesen Infrarot-Ohrthermometern liegt die Erkenntnis zugrunde, dass die Temperatur des Trommelfells der Gehirntemperatur und damit der Körperkerntemperatur weitestgehend entspricht.Infrared ear thermometers are known in different designs.
