Abstract

The invention relates to a protective cover for drink cans comprising two parts which are connected to one another by means of a discontinuous line of points which is punched and which enables said elements to be separated. The inventive device does not cover the original printing on the lateral surface of the container and it can contain advertising. Said cover is provided with a shape and an upper flange which are similar to those of a can without a cover and, as a result, the containers can be stacked in the same way as standard cans. The method of applying the cover, which is very economical, does not interfere with the production processes nor with the filling of the cans. The inventive cover is hermetically fixed to the can in order to ensure that there are no germs on the upper part or sides of said can.

Description

PROTECTOR PARA LATAS CAN PROTECTOR
The product described is to adapt to all types of beverage cans, usually after its filling process and before being packed and stacked for storage. It is applied to aluminum cans, although it can also be used in cans made of another type of metal, and even of another material, if in the future the cans were manufactured like this.
ESTADO DE LA TÉCNICASTATE OF THE TECHNIQUE
There are several patents that improve the opening mechanism of beverage cans, such as WO 97/14621, or that allow the can to be closed once opened, to prevent the beverage or gas from leaking, such as EP 712787, although they refer to the type of closure of the cans that was used long ago. Other patents describe complicated systems, such as those in which a straw is included inside the can and when the lid is opened the straw comes out.
Nowadays practically all the cans of drinks that are consumed have in their upper part a device consisting of a small tongue, by pulling from which the hole through which the drink comes out, leaving the tongue attached to the can, by ecological motives
One of the objectives pursued is to ensure that drinking directly from a newly opened can is minimally hygienic, such as the patent
Or WO 99/05034, which refers to a lid to be applied to the can that makes it easier to drink.
EXPLICACIÓN DE LA INVENCIÓNEXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION
El tapa-latas (CAN COVER UP. The can-lid (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Brand) constitutes a hygienic solution when drinking directly from a can of drinks, resting the lips on the lateral surface of the can and on the top lid of the can.
El tapa-latas (CAN COVER UP. El tapa-latas (CAN COVER UP. It ensures total asepsis, both of the part of the can that comes in contact with the lips, and of the product when it comes out of the can and comes into contact with the outside of the can lid. Throughout the process of filling the beverage cans a disinfection of the container is carried out to eliminate all types of germs; subsequently they are filled and covered, then moving on to packing and storage at the factory. But once stored, cans are exposed to all types of pollutants. The same happens during transportation to the wholesaler and storage there. Another subsequent transport to the retailer and its possible storage and let's not say if the sale is made in the street, makes that in the top of the can and especially on the flange of the lid it has been stored enough crap to consider a high risk health drinking directly from the can. The lid described prevents bacteria from accumulating in the top lid of the container and on the sides, as it adheres firmly to it, and the lid is not exposed. To the factory of filling of the cans of refreshing drinks, arrive the printed containers with his mark, characteristics, and everything what the manufacturer wishes to show. The can-lid (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Brand) described is made of any plastic material that is resistant and non-toxic and consists of a lid that is placed on the top of the can. With this invention several objectives are achieved: on the one hand a space is gained that, without covering the original form of the lateral surface of the package, can be used to include advertising, or other information; an additional space is also gained with the same advertising objective in the upper part of the can, since the upper lid that closes the can is a separate piece that must have the tongue for the opening. The same can be said for the case of not putting a tongue on the can-lid (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Mark), as it is not essential, being able to simply have a die-cut line to tear or simply a color reference to identify the site by which to remove the lid-can (CAN COVER UP. Reg. mark). On the other hand, a hygienic protection for the can is achieved that ensures that there are no germs in the upper area of the can at the time of consumption. All this would entail a significant disadvantage if the cans could not be stacked as is done today. The can-lid (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Brand) that we describe is manufactured with a resistant and non-toxic plastic material, is more or less cylindrical and adheres to the can at the top, having a shape and a flange on top
Reg. brand), thanks to which the containers can be stacked the same as traditional cans. We also get that, both the lid-can (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Mark) itself, and its placement procedure does not interfere in any of the production and filling processes of the cans and is economical. The external part is a cylindrical surface, although it is also possible to have a polygonal section. It also provides an additional usable surface to include any type of information, specifications, advertising or decoration. It is composed of a piece that has a broken stamped line that allows it to be separated into two other pieces at the time of opening, either by means of a tongue or simply by pulling, tearing along the stamped line. At the time of opening the can-lid, any of the following 3 solutions can be implemented: a- the entire can-lid can be removed (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Mark) and detaches from all sides; with this solution it is much easier to place it, since it is not necessary to match the opening strip of the side with the opening of the tongue of the can itself b- only the part of the side that coincides with the support area is removed from the lips and the entire upper part without detaching completely, that is, keeping the raised part attached to the rest c- equal to the previous section, but completely detaching.
OF THE DRAWINGS Figure 1 represents a can of drinks from which they are currently manufactured (1), covered by the cover object of this invention (2). Figure 2 is an elevation view of the cover (2) from the opposite part of that of Figure 1; in it and in figure 3, which is a plan view of the same cover, the parts of which it is composed are appreciated and which are: - an element (3) that separates from the rest of the cover when pulling the tongue (4), if any, which is attached to an upper part (5) that has a flange (6) and a circular part, which is more sunk than the edge - a fixed part (7) which is the one that comes attached to the can
HOJA DE SUSTITUCIÓN (REGLA 26) La figura 4 muestra la lata y el tapa-latas (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Mark) once it is opened, if the solution in which the part that is opened is held is chosen. Figures 5 and 6 are a representation of the grouping of 6 lid-cans seen from the front and in plan, respectively.
EXPOSICIÓN DETALLADA DE UN MODO DE REALIZACIÓN En el momento de su fabricación el tapa-latas (CAN COVER UP. Marca reg.) El tapa latas (CAN COVER UP. OF AN EMBODIMENT MODE At the time of manufacture, the can-lid (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Mark) (2) constitutes a single piece consisting of a piece of a more or less cylindrical shape, with a reduction of the cylinder in its upper part, which is open at the bottom and closed at the top where a tongue (4) can protrude. If in the future the design of the cans will vary, that of the can-lid (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Mark) would vary accordingly. The can lid (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Mark) adheres to the can, for example by means of a glue or by heat-sealing, in such a way that it is a hermetic seal that guarantees the absence of germs in the upper part of the can where the opening tongue of the can goes.
Una parte del tapa latas (CAN COVER UP. Marca reg.) The cylindrical surface, as well as the top and sides of the lid-cans, can be used with advertising effects, resulting in a very cheap and simple method that, at the same time, does not affect the process of filling, decorating or storing the containers . The tongue, if it exists, allows, thanks to lateral incisions and along the circumference of the upper edge, to break the piece in two at the time of consumption. One part of the can lid (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Mark) (7) can be held on the back by the rest for ecological reasons or can be completely removed, exposing the top lid of the container and the other part (3) is open, hanging from the previous one (7), being able to open the can and drink the drink hygienically.
Marca reg.) incluiría una etapa de desinfección, otra de aclarado, otra de secado y una o dos etapas finales para primero, mediante un lector colocar la lata de tal forma que la lengüeta quede correctamente situada para poder abrir la lata, si fuere necesario y segundo, colocar el tapa-lata (CANThe circular part (5) has a diameter approximately equal to that of the can and is more sunk than the edge, or the sinking can be performed at the time of putting the lid-can (CAN COVER UP. HOJA DE SUSTITUCIÓN (REGLA 26) COVER UP. Mark) by an airtight thermo-sealing or bonding procedure.
Este invento permite suprimir esa abrazadera, simplemente fabricando los tapa-latas (CAN COVER UP. La unión entre tapa-latas (CAN COVER UP. Marca reg.) es tal que permite separar las latas en unidades individuales, por parejas, etc, tal como el ejemplo que se puede ver en las figuras 5 y 6.Virtually all beverage cans are sold today in "cartons" of 24 units and within them the cans grouped 6 in 6 by means of plastic "clamps". This invention allows the clamp to be removed simply by manufacturing the can-covers (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Brand) in groups of 6, organizing the cans in a similar manner. And if in the future it would be more convenient to group them 2 in 2 or 4 in 4 or in any other combination, the can-lids (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Brand) could be manufactured that way, just by changing the dies with those who manufacture. The joint between can-covers (CAN COVER UP. Reg. Mark) is such that it allows the cans to be separated into individual units, in pairs, etc., such as the example that can be seen in figures 5 and 6.
