Abstract

Skin whitening compositions contain α-hydroxytetronic acid or α-hydroxytetronic derivative, and, in some cases, hydroquinone, an α-hydroxy acid such as glycolic acid, and a fatty acid ester of ascorbic acid such as ascorbyl palmitate.
