Abstract

The present invention relates to a new and improved apparatus for a cellular telephone flash/hook switch in a wireless headset. It provides the functionality of the push-button switch included with wired headsets/earpieces and the ability to enable telecommunications remotely without unnecessary power drain. The present invention includes a headset unit (40) and a telephone module (50). The wireless headset includes a headset switch (12) having an activation state and a headset circuit (41). The headset circuit (41) transmits a wireless signal (46) upon detection of the activation state of the headset switch (12). The telephone module includes a telephone module circuit (45) which provides telecommunication between the wireless headset (40) and the telephone device (50) upon receiving the wireless signal (46).
