Abstract

The invention relates to a method and system for acquisition of electrocardiographic data by the aid of a mobile pocket device and to their sending to a diagnostic center by cellular or fixed telephone. The invention overcomes the problem of recording all 12 standard electrocardiogram leads, for patients with coronary insufficiency diagnosis, in such a way that the patient in an urgent situation records only three leads, using the mobile device - an ECG transmitter with integral electrodes, while a program loaded into a diagnostic center computer reconstructs all 12 standard electrocardiogram leads using the three received leads, so that the reconstructed leads correspond to the leads that would be recorded by electrodes in their standard position at the moment the patient was recording three leads with the mobile device. The reconstruction program is based on a reconstruction algorithm. In this way, the system makes urgent cardiology diagnosis possible on the basis of all 12 standard ECG leads, based on recording that the patient does himself using the pocketsize device with integral electrodes, that is without using cables.

Claims

PATENT CLAIMS
1. A method for telephonic recording of ECG data which are sent to a remote location by the telephone line, wherein the said method means that, using the calibration procedure (320), the calibration coefficients for a patient (1) are calculated; as a next step, by using an ECG transmitter (2), three special ECG leads (301) are recorded on the body of the patient (1), and, through modems (3) and (7), sent to a diagnostic center (6), where they are transformed, in a computer (9), into 12 standard ECG leads (307) by a reconstruction procedure.
2. A method as described in claim 1, wherein said method means that during said calibration procedure (320), as a first step, two groups of ECG leads are recorded from a patient (1) in the diagnostic center (6), namely three special ECG leads (302) and twelve standard ECG leads (303), and then, using the calibration program (304) on computer (9) which takes recordings (302) and (303) as input data, the calibration coefficients, representing the coefficient of dependence between the groups of leads (302) and (303), are calculated for the patient (1) and stored into a calibration coefficients database (305).
3. A method as described in claim 2, wherein said method means that three special ECG leads (302) are recorded using a box with integral electrodes (13), while 12 standard ECG leads (303) are recorded using standard electrodes (11).
4. A method as described in claim 1, wherein said method means that a patient (1), using an ECG transmitter (2) records three special leads (301) by connecting four integral electrodes (20) on the ECG transmitter (2) electrically with the same points on his body as when the box with integral electrodes (13) was used during calibration procedure (320).
5. A method as described in claim 1, wherein said method means that in the computer (9), on the basis of recording of three special ECG leads (301) obtained by telephone, and the patient (1) calibration coefficients from database (305), and by using a reconstruction program (306), 12 reconstructed standard ECG leads (307) are obtained and displayed on the computer screen (9) by using a graphical display program (308), comprising that twelve leads (307) are derived in such a way that that they coincide with the recording that would be taken from electrodes in their standard positions on the body of the patient (1), in the moment when he performed the recording of the three special leads (301) by the ECG transmitter (2),
6. A system for telephonic recording of ECG data that are sent to a remote location by using a telephone line, wherein the said system means that an ECG transmitter (2), through modems (3) and (7) and the telephone line (5), is connected to the computer (9) in the diagnostic center (6), which in turn is connected with the calibration device (10), which in turn is connected with the box with integral electrodes (13) and standard ECG electrodes (11).
7. A system as described in claim 6, wherein said system means that the ECG transmitter (2) is equipped with four integral electrodes (20), and that they are connected with inputs of an amplifier (21) to record three ECG leads (301), so that one electrode (200) represent the passive electrode, while the rest of them (201, 202 and 203) represent the active electrodes.
8. A system as described in claim 6, wherein said system means that a calibration device (10) is connected with a box with integral electrodes (13) which is equipped with four integral electrodes (130, 131, 132 and 133), so that the box with integral electrodes (13) has the same shape as the ECG transmitter (2), while the integral electrodes on it (130, 131, 132 and 133) have the same shape, position and connection with the corresponding amplifier as electrodes (20) on the transmitter (2), according to the claim 7.
