Abstract

Es wird ein Verfahren zum Betreiben eines Mobilfunknetzes (30) vorgeschlagen, das eine einwandfreie Funktion von Protokollinstanzen bei der Übertragung von Dateneinheiten zwischen zwei Funkstationen des Mobilfunknetzes (30) gewährleistet. Dabei werden Nutzdaten durch eine erste Konvergenzprotokollschicht (1) einer ersten Funkstation (15) vor dem Übertragen an eine zweite Konvergenzprotokollschicht (2) einer zweiten Funkstation (16), insbesondere auf derselben Protokollebene, zu mindestens einer ersten Dateneinheit, insbesondere einer Paketdateneinheit, zusammengesetzt, wobei die Nutzdaten von mindestens einem Nutzer (21, 22) in einer Netzwerkschicht (5) an die erste Konvergenzprotokollschicht (1) geliefert werden. Mindestens eine Protokollinstanz (35) der ersten Konvergenzprotokollschicht (1) wird in Abhängigkeit einer von der zweiten Funkstation (16) empfangenen Konfigurationsaufforderung (40, 41, 42) konfiguriert, um aus den von dem mindestens einen Nutzer (21, 22) empfangenen Daten die mindestens eine erste Dateneinheit zu bilden und durch einen Träger (45) an eine Verbindungssteuerungsschicht (10) zu übertragen.
