MODES FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Figure 1 is a view illustrating a schematic construction of a financial service system according to the present invention which includes a fingeφrint recognition unit 1 including a fingeφrint recognition window 1-1 for recognizing a user's fingeφrint, an optical lens 1-2 for transmitting the fingeφrint recognized by the fingeφrint recognition window 1-1 to a programmable logic device 1-2, and a programmable logic device 1-3 for processing the fingeφrint transmitted via the optical lens 1-2 as a data, an external terminal connection unit 2 used as a communication connection unit with an external communication unit in an emergency state, a key pad 3 used for receiving a financial service, a display unit 4 for displaying a processing procedure in accordance with an operation sequence when the financial service is received, a voice reproducing unit 5 for producing an input item by a user during a display operation of the display unit 4, a speaker 6 for outputting a voice signal reproduced by the voice reproducing unit 5, a CPU(Central Processing Unit) unit 7 for controlling the operation of each unit, a storing unit 8 for storing a control logic of the CPU unit 7 and a fingeφrint data, and a cash card/passbook input unit
9 for inputting a user's cash card or passbook.
Figure 2 is a view illustrating a detailed construction of the CPU in Figure 1. As shown therein, the CPU unit includes: a password verification unit 10 for requesting a password input when a cash card or passbook is inputted through the card/passbook input unit 9 and checking whether the inputted password is matched with the previously stored password of the cash card or passbook, a comparator 11 for comparing the fingeφrint recognized by the fingeφrint recognition unit 1 with the normal fingeφrint corresponding to the password inputted via the password verification unit 10 or the fingeφrint among the fingeφrints inputted in an alarm state, a judging unit 12 for judging whether the current fmgeφrint inputted from the comparator is matched with a fingeφrint corresponding to the previously stored fingeφrint, a selection service providing unit 13 for requesting a service selection to a user and providing a service selected by the user when the current fingeφrint of the user is matched with the normally inputted fingeφrint as a result of the judgement of the judging unit 12, and an alarm message transmission unit 14 for transmitting an alarm message to the external terminal connection unit 2 for reporting an alarm state to a police station via the emergency connection network when the current fmgeφrint of the user is matched with the alarm state fingeφrint as a result of the judgement of the judging unit 12 and outputting a message corresponding to the other alarm states. The operation of the financial service system according to the present invention will be explained with reference to the accompanying drawings.
When a cash card or passbook is inputted into the card and passbook input portion 9, a message of "a password is required" is displayed on the display unit 4 and a voice message is outputted from the speaker 6. When a user inputs his password upon seeing or hearing the above-described message, the password identification unit 10 checks whether the previously stored password of the cash card or passbook is matched with the currently inputted
password. If the password is not matched, a message of "The password is not matched" is displayed on the display unit 4 and is outputted via the speaker 6.
On the contrary, if the password is matched, a message of "Please input the fingeφrint" is displayed on the display unit 4 and is outputted via the speaker 6. When the user inputs his fingeφrint into the fingeφrint recognition apparatus
I , the comparator 11 searches the fingeφrints corresponding to the password outputted from the password verification unit 10 and checks whether the fingeφrint is matched with the normally inputted fingeφrints or is matched with the alert state- based fingeφrints. When the fingeφrints are checked, the judging unit 12 judges whether the inputted fingeφrint is matched with the fingeφrint outputted from the comparator
I I . As a result of the comparison, if the normally inputted fingeφrint is matched, a service is provided to the user via the service selection providing unit 13. If the inputted fmgeφrint is matched with the alert state fingeφrint, an emergency connection is made to the police station, and the normal operation is proceeded for the reason that the illegal user can not recognize the emergency connection to the police station.
The block "a" formed of the password verification unit 10, the comparator 1 1 , and the judging unit 12 may be designed so that all financial services are available in the financial service system in a state that the passwords and fingeφrints of users are stored in the financial service system. In a large capacity financial company, since the data of users are too large as illustrated in Figure 3, the block "a" and the database may be separately formed in a financial company server 15 and may remotely connected with the financial service system. At this time, the communication and data transmission and receiving operations between the financial service system and the database in the financial company are performed via the external terminal connection unit 2, and in the case
that the database and comparison/judgement unit are installed at the side of the financial company, it is not needed to store the password and fingeφrint data into the storing unit 8 of the financial service system.
The above-described constructions may be determined based on the size of the financial company.
The financial service system as shown in Figure 1 may be embodied as a handy bank such as a 365-day corner and a terminal for the exclusive use of clients at a window.
In the above description, the example that the password is inputted, and then the fingeφrint is inputted when receiving a financial service via the financial service system was described. In another embodiment of the present invention, the password input process may be omitted when the user inputs a user information.
Namely, when using the financial service system, the fingeφrint may be directly inputted without inputting the password. The fingeφrint registration process and the process for informing an emergency state to the police station will be explained with reference to the flow charts of Figures 4 A and 4B.
Figure 4A is a flow chart of the mode in which a user information is stored in Step SI . When a user key is inputted using a key pad of the financial service system, it is judged whether this key corresponds to the key corresponding to a main master registration, As a result of the judgement, if the key corresponds to the master registration, it is checked whether a password input mode is selected for a double security in Step Sl l .
As a result of the check, when the password input mode is selected, a user is requested to input the password, and when the password is inputted, the fingeφrint corresponding to the password is registered. If the mode is not the password input mode, the fingeφrint is directly registered without the password input.
At this time, when registering the fingeφrint, a fingeφrint which corresponds to the normal money deposit and withdraw by a user and another fingeφrint which corresponds to the abnormal money deposit and withdraw by the user in such a forced manner by others are inputted in Step SI 2. When the fingeφrint inputs are finished, the registration state is displayed on the display unit 4, and a voice message that the fingeφrint registration is completed is outputted via the speaker 6. The current display is changed to the initial display in Step S13.
As a result of the judgement of Step Sl l , if the inputted key is not the key corresponding to the main master registration, it is checked whether the inputted key is an additional sub-master registration. If the inputted key corresponds to the additional sub-master registration, it is recognized that an additional registration is made based on the main master.
If the recognition is made by the main master, it is checked whether the password input mode is selected with respect to an additional sub-master registration. If the password input mode is selected, a user is requested to input the password. When the password is inputted, a fingeφrint corresponding thereto is registered. If the current mode is not the password input mode, the fingeφrint is additionally registered without the password input in Step SI 5. At this time, the fingeφrint registration and the guide messages are the same as the main master registration.
In addition, as a result of the judgement in Step SI 4, if the key does not correspond to the additional sub-master registration, it is checked whether the key corresponds to the key on a user registration. If the key corresponds to the user registration, it is approved that the user registration can be made based on the registered main master or the sub-master in Step SI 6.
If the master recognition is approved, it is checked whether the password
input mode is selected or not. If the password input mode is selected, the user is required to input the password. If the password is inputted, the fingeφrint is inputted to correspond thereto. If the mode is not the password input mode, the fingeφrint is directly registered without inputting the password in Step SI 7. At this time, the fingeφrint registration and guide messages are the same as the main master registration.
In addition, as a result of the judgement of Step SI 6, if the key is not the key corresponding to the user registration, it is checked whether the key is the key corresponding to a deletion function. If the key corresponds to the deletion function, it is judged whether the password input mode is set in Step S 18.
As a result of the judgement, if the password input mode is set, the password is inputted, and the master recognition is required. Otherwise, the master recognition is required without the password. If the recognition is approved, the fingeφrint and the password corresponding thereto are selected, and the display is returned to the initial display in Step SI 9.
The process that the user uses the financial service system will be explained with reference to Figure 4B which is continued based on Figure 4A.
In Step SI 8, if the inputted key corresponds to the service item selection related to the cash deposit and withdraw, and the cash card or passbook is inputted via the cash card/passbook input unit 9, it is judged whether the password input mode is set. If set, the password input is required in Step S21.
If the password is inputted, it is judged whether the inputted password is matched with the previously stored password corresponding to the inputted cash card or passbook. As a result of the judgement, if not matched, a message of "The password is wrong" is displayed and is outputted via the speaker. The above-described operation is repeated by certain times. If the set certain number operation is finished, the display is returned to the initial display in Step S22.
In Steps S21 and S22, if the input mode of the password is set, or the password is matched, the fingeφrint input is required. If the fingeφrint is inputted, it is judged whether the inputted fingeφrint is the normally inputted fingeφrint or is the fingeφrint inputted in an alarm state in Step S23. As a result of the judgement, if the fingeφrint is the normally inputted fingeφrint, it is checked whether the inputted fingeφrint is matched with the normal state fingeφrint. If not matched, a message of "The fingeφrint is not matched" is displayed and is outputted via the speaker. Thereafter, a fingeφrint re-input message is outputted by a certain number. If the set certain number is finished, the display is returned to the initial display in Step S24.
In addition, as a result of the judgement, if the fingeφrint is matched, the service selected by the user is provided, and the service contents are displayed on the display unit 4, and a message of "The service is finished" is outputted. A service completion paper is printed, and the display is returned to the initial display in Step S25.
As a result of the judgement in Step S23, if the fingeφrint is the fingeφrint inputted in an alarm state, it is checked whether the inputted fmgeφrint is matched with the fingeφrint inputted in an alarm state. If not matched, a message of "The inputted fingeφrint is not matched" is outputted and is outputted via the speaker by certain times. The above-described messages are repeated by certain times. If the set message number is finished, the display is changed to the initial display in Step S26. As a result of the judgement, if matched with the alarm state fingeφrint, an emergency state is generated and reported to the police station in Step S27.
Thereafter, the service selected by the user is normally proceeded so that the illegal user can not recognize that the transaction is reported to the police station. The service contents are displayed on the display unit 4, and a message that the service is finished is displayed and is outputted via the speaker. A service completion
message paper is printed, and the display is returned to the initial display in Step S25. Therefore, a police man can come to the transaction site while the transaction is being made and can arrest the illegal user.
As described above, in the present invention, in order to prevent any crime by a bank teller which occurs in the conventional financial service company, the bank teller can not perform all transaction for depositing and withdrawing a client's money. Namely, when a user's password and fingeφrint is verified at the user's terminal(the financial service system according to the present invention), the bank teller can only deposit and withdraw only cash, so that it is possible to prevent any crime by the bank teller. In addition, in the case that the user uses the financial service system forcibly by an illegal user, the previously registered alarm state fingeφrint is inputted. Upon finishing the fingeφrint identification, a policeman can come to the transaction site and arrest the illegal user. In this case, since the service is proceeded in the normal state, the illegal user can not recognize that the illegal transaction is reported to the police station, so that it is possible to protect the user of the cash card from the illegal user.
Although the preferred embodiment of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative puφoses, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as recited in the accompanying claims.
