Abstract

A method and structure for transmitting digital picture data between a digital camera (10) having a modem (20) and a remote device (42), either over the Internet (40) or over one or more secure communications links, is presented. A digital camera (10) is modified to include a modem (20) or other communications element (34), firmware (18), and a user interface (31) for communication between the user and the firmware (18) of the digital camera (10).
