Abstract

Method and apparatus for reading a finger-print comprising a scanner-plate (1) made from a transparent material which contains fluorescent dyes for improving the readability.

Description

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR READING OF FSPECIALLY A FINGER PRINT.
The invention relate to methods and embodyments of apparatus for reading of a finger-print, which especially is produced with a lightning skin-line-picture on a dark background, but also opposite, and where the printing- device and the flate of the reproducing ideal can be made of optical clean and with great guide-lightning capability transparent materials as an example polymer as polycarbonat. And where the printing device and the flat of reproducing can be very thin. And where the lightning for the flat of picturing separat, but also in combination with the side-lightning, can be establish as edge and end lightning.
Hitherto are there known systems for reading of finger- print or scanning with partly thin scanner-and imprinting plates, and where the lightning espically occur from the side, as an example as told according to U.S. patent no.
3.865.488.
The system in this embodyment has that disadvantages, that one for using the system optimacally, then first shall take a finger-print via an optimum casting mass, which must be beded soft and yielding on pillow of foam rubber.
After this shall one imprint the dummy on the imprinting plate itself, and the mass of silicone would now done, together with the light index of refraction of the imprinting plate, that the light would be refleted in the points of touching or contacting. The system is especially made to get a wide finger-print compared with, that one via the soft dummy plug can get a resonable "totally blacking" of finger-print. The system can not be used for ordinary direct taken finger-print, as for that matter the lightning for a finger-line-picture in this embodyment would be too weak. And for that matter would the foam rubber plug be a difficult way to get a totally print. The system can not be used direct as service device at, key-passage, paying- service and like that.
Earlier from the danish news-papar " The Engineer" number 2 of 11 January 1991, is there on side 2 told about a new plast-material "Lisa" from Bayer AG. This material has that advantage in limpid embodyment, that there at a totally reflection from the internal big flats of the material, via the optical property of the material, which has added flourined dye-stuff, that then will the material at the small flats and edges light very stronly with a self-lightning effect, as among other things the flourinded dyestuff under influence of the reflecting light, and would converted the beams to long- waved light, insted of converted them to heat-energy.
The system has only been used for toys asadvertisement board, and one have not used this new discovered effect from present inventor, and of this divert method and user-way and apparatus for the concerned material, which is arising, when one touch an imprinting plate. Then would the light be brocken or reflected in the touching - or contacting points, and the colour- pigment in the plast material would now done that a finger-print would been seen as flourescented and lightning, as all light energy now would be summing up and be converted to a clear skin-line-print for the imprinted finger-blum insted of only to come out through the edges.
The system would in embodyments of the apparatus be self- illuminating from the same side as the imprinted finger- blum and against surface of the flat of the finger blum which is touching and pressing compact against the surface of the flat. The purpose of the invention is to provide a finger¬ print system and an apparatus of this in the beginning mentioned kinds, which can be used in one of the embodiments at only a natural background light, from the same side as finger applying, and in a continued development of this in a combination to and in a thin plast cart.
This has been obtained according to the invention with, that the transparent material for the flat of the picture is mixed with dyestoff, which is flourcented under infuence of light, and which for this reason reflected the light beams as long-welded visible light, specially at and qua thiese on the outer surface imprinted skin- lines or finger-prints on the outer surface of the picture-flat, and where the skin-lines for this lightning integrated would reflect the summing long-welded light, especially perpendicular through the printing plate and specially for the opporsit picture- and testing-side for scanning.
One optain also according to the invention that the lightning of the skin-lines can be established from the same side as the imprinting finger-plum, for via the flourcented colour-pigment inside the space in the matererial itself in imprinting-plate in the touching- points to reflecte and turn 180 grades against the internal side of the finger-imprinting-side. For after this especially perpendicular reflection or 180 grades turning of the now concentrated and add up light to an exact and sharpned pictur-projection through the imprinting plate for scanning on and at the opporsite side, or vie mirro -or prismesystem to other sides.
Favourable modifying embodyments of the invention appear under the claims. In the following there are described embodyments of the invention more specify under reference to the drawings, where
Fig.l shows in section the skin-lines (6) imprinted (4) on a picture-flat (1 as 10) with side-lightning (8),
Fig.2 shows a thin (11) credit-cart (1) with area for picture scanning (13),
Fig.3 shows in section the skin-lines (6) imprinted (4) on a picture-flat (1 as 10) with lightning (8') from the imprinting side (10),
Fig.4 shows in section a picture-plate (1), which is limit for light (14) and accumulating, and
Fig.5 shows in section a picture plate (1) with lightning (8' ) from the imprinting side (5) and with three dim edges (14) and a free reading-edge (16').
Fig.l shows in section the skin-lines (6) imprinted (12) on a picturing-flat (1) with side-lightning (8). The lightning (8) for the scanning-plate (1) hit now the flourencented (7) colour-pigments (2), by which they (8 and 2) are going to be transformed to long-welded light (7), and generally has all light been reflected (7) from the inside of the big flat (10) through the whole length of the plate (10* ). Yet would there in the lines (4) and points (4), where skin-lines (6) are touching or contacting (4) the imprinting plate (1) arisen an accumulated reflection of light (7), why the point (4) or the skin-line (6) lightning (7) throw an extra clear light (3) perpendicular through the imprinting plate (1) for ideal scanning.
The thickness (11) of the plate (1) can now with the edge-lightning (8), which any are going to be supplied with big-side lightning (10'), be made essential lesser than earlier known, as the intensity of the light (3) would be increased essential, as the colour-particles (2) convert the light (8) to long-welded light (7) insted of warm as earlier known.
Fig.2 shows a thin (11) credit-cart (1') with area for pictur-scanning (13). The system (1' and 13) can ideal be used in connection to credit-card systems (1' ), as the new method by this shows embodyments of apparatus ( fig.l as fig.2), which just are using the possibility (7) for sufficiently lightning (7) of a finger-print (4) via edge (8) as side-lightning (10' ).
Fig.3 shows in section the skin-lines (5) imprinted (12) on a picturing-flat (1), with lightning (8') of the contact-hold finger-plum (5) with imprinting of skin- lines (6 as 4) light (8') from the touching-side (10) via the using of the method of the invention, as the flourecented (7) colour-pigments (2) reflected (7) and heighten (7' ) the light (8' ) to indirect lightning (7) of the finger-plum (5), which after this lightning (4) send (3) or again reflect the light opposite for ideal perpendicular scanning (3) from the other side (9). From the imprinting side (10) would then the area be seen as black. And the lightning (8") could ideal be seen via that to the room ordinary lightning (8' ), which is accumulating (7' ). Alternative could there over the aera of scanner (1) be placed an extern lightning (8* ) .
Fig.4 shows in section a limit lightning (14) and accumulating (7) imprinting plate (1), where the plate (1) here is framed or shield for especially extern light (15), and where the limit (14) could be applied the scanner-plate (14) on every edges (11') as rugle four edges and partly the side also of the looking or the scanner-tasting side (10), yet should the area of scanner (13') be breaking free. This construction cause that the light (7) would be inside in the plate (1), and be collected optimum (7), and further would be accumulated for picture-making (3) for a skin-lines (4) to a direct sharp and extra reflection against the scanning-side (9). To get a fully drawn picture (3) then can the imprinting plate (1) be equipted with a weigth-registering (12' ) or a testing of the light-intensity, to get all the skin- lines (6').fully drawn. Or populary said, so that there is no "brush marks" in the imprinted finger-print (4).
Fig.5 shows in section the imprinting-plate (1) with lightning (8') from the imprintnig side (10) and with three dimmer-edges (14) and a free reading-edge (16") as an example readed via laser.
The system would be ideal for the securing of the credit- card. As in the same time this (1) can be developed with one in the card integrated information about the finger¬ print of the owner (6' ).
The card (1) can further be developed with alarm , so that a not belonging finger-print (6) either can establish an acustic as a visible alarm. Alternative could picture of the finger-print of the card be deleted at repeated by using of the card, where it not belong to the actual user.
