Bei dem meisten sich im Gebrauch befindenden Tastaturen befinden sich über oder neben den Tastenfeld zur Eingabe von Schriftzeichen die sogenannten Funktionstasten. Diesen Funktionstasten ist, abhängig vom Programm das auf der Datenverarbeitungsanlage abläuft, eine bestimmte Funktion zugeordnet. Die Kennzeichnung der Funktionen die diesen Funktionstasten zugeordnet sind, wird durch Beschriftungen über den Funktionstasten, durch Aufkleben von Etiketten oder durch Auflegeschablonen ereicht. Dies hat in den ersten beiden Fällen den Nachteil, daß bei einem Programmwechsel auf der Datenverarbeitungsanlage und somit einer Änderung der Zuordnungen die Beschriftung nicht oder nur schwer geändert werden kann. Die Lösung des Problems mit den Schablonen hat den Nachteil, daß Schablonen verloren gehen können und das versehentlich eine falsche Schablone aufgelegt werden kann.
