Description

'my improved pin.
i linited teintes i @me er11'm- HIRAM M. RAYNOR, or NEW YjoRK,gN. Y.
Letters Patent No. 99,593, dated February 8, 1870.
` IBPRQVED PIN FOR ARTIFICIAL TEETH.
v The seeker-luie referred to 1n then Letters Patent and making part of the lame.
To' all whom it rua/y concern: c
Be it known that I, HIRAM M. RAYNOB, of the `city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Pins for Artificial Teeth; and I do hereby declare that the following is a. full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art `to make and use thesame, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification, in whichrPhe gure in the drawing represents a plan view of Thisinvention relates to an improved manner of `consiunicti ng the pinsby which the teeth are' fastened `mould, upon the shank ends b, and the rubber upon the loop Yend a.
In case two or more teeth are to be inserted, I effeet it by extending the wire in a series of loops and rightangled shanks, as represented by B. Thus,
whether a greater or lesser number of teeth are to be manufactured, there is but a single block formed, and but a single operation required." Thus, by constructing my pin with the right-angled extensions or Shanks b,
I am not only enabled to secure a firm and effective' hold upon a single tooth, but am able to secure aseries of teeth in one block with equal facility, and at scarcely any additional cost.
I am aware that a T-shaped pin, for fastening a single tooth is old, and therefore do not seek a patent for the same; but
What Ido claim as my invention, and desire to protect by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of the continuons wire B, forming a series of connecting-pins, with the rubber C and teeth D, as and for the purpose specified.
Witnesses: HIRAMl M. RAYNOR.
