OYSTER-DISH.

-When so served it is the usual practice to place the half shells containing the oysters on a layer ot' cracked ice which is laced in a plate. In practice the Water trom the melting of the ice rises in the plate and floods the oysters, and also causes an unattractive appearance of the dish.

The primary object of my invention is to provide a support for the ice upon which the oysters are placed so constructed and arranged above the bottom of the dish in which it is placed as to cause the water troni the melting ice to be drained therefrom and into the dish below, thus avoiding the objectionable conditions recited.

A further object of my invention is to combine with the device a convenient condiment holder in convenient position therein.

I realize that the construction of the various details making up the device may be modified and changed without departing from the scope of my invention, and I do not wish to be understood as being limited to the precise forni shown and described. i

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

A receptacle for .serving o vsters or other bivalves, comprising a plate, a holder adapted to receive a bed of ice and a layer ot' oysters thereon, said holder being provided with depending portions to support it above the.
