Be it known that I, BENJAMIN O. TILLING- tons or packages designed for the purpose EAST, a citizen of the United States, residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented an Improved Vending Carton or Package, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to that class of carof holding a series of smaller packages, boxes, or vendible units of any character, in such a manner that they may be removed one at a time from the bottom of such inor packages in outside view; Figs. 3 ahd4,

The inclosing package or carton I, which is preferably made of pasteboard is arranged to carry a series of smaller boxes, packages or other vendible units 2, of uniform tl1ick-, ness which are piled one upon the other and which have a broad area suflicient to fill the space of the inclosing package. This package is provlded at its lower end with an opening 3 having finger notches 4 at the ends of the same, which notches are cut into the sides of the inclosing package.

The opening 3 is preferably the height of 4 one of the smaller boxes, packages or other inclosed units, and said boxes may be removed through said openlng by grasping the same by the thumb and finger through the said notches 4. To assist removal of the boxes, packages or other units, particularly if they are of other than square or rectangular shape, I provide an aperture 6 at the rear of the carton for theinsertionof the forefinger to push out the box, package or other article it is desired to remove.

Having thus described my invention, I

claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent:

A multiple unit receptacleconsisting of an inclosing carton adapted to contain a plurality of vendible units and having at one side of an end thereof an exit opening through which said units are laterally removable, the wall of the carton opposite its exit opening being perforated for the insertion of a finger to assist in the removal of the lowermost unit, the ends of said carton being closed by a plurality of flaps, and elastic means secured to the flaps at one end press the same toward said exit of the carton and arranged to be stretched over and band together vendible units con tained within said carton and press them toward said exit opening.
