Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Jon. 7', 1908.
Application filed October 4, 190B. Seriiil No. 337.428.
To all ywlioni 'it may concern.'
Be it known thiit l, PETER ERICKSON, it
the table, end hes secured citizen of the United States, residing et` lVhitohiill, in the county of Muskegon ond State oi' iiiichigeii, lieve invented certain new' ond iiseiiii lniprovei'nents in Brewer Attacliii'iei'its, of which the 4ollowing is e. specification.
My invention relates to improvement@ in dra-wer v(itinchinents, and hoster its object, the provision of' simple end inexpensive ineens for supporting a drawer or troy under enoidiniiry tiible so es not to .interfere with the uses oi' the table, ond to iillow siii" drawer to be extended end held in such. posi tion entirely clear et the tnole. Another object of niy invention, is to provide such en nttiieninent consisting ot but few parts, which may be readily eppliedto any sortof trible or shelf to support it trziv or dre-wer thereunder, so that sind troy will be concealed iioni view end entirely. out of the way when not in use.
To attain the' desired. objects, my invenf tion consists ot a plurality of lovers odeited to be pivotiiliy secured to e table or sielf, sind levers having pivotal connection with and supporting e driiwer or other rece tecle either in extended position or benefit the table or sheli,2ind ineens Jfor ceptoclc in either position.
My invention iiirther consists of ein titM tiichinent tor drawers or like receptacles enibodying certiiin other novel tee-titres of co'n struction, combination end arrangement ot parts siibstniitiolly` es disclosed herein.
VFigure l, is e side elevition of my iniproved attachment e lied to the lower side ot :i table top, the te e being shown in section. Fig. 2, is ii simil r view, with 'the drawer in the extended position. Fig. 3, is :iii end elevation of the -drawcr end zitliichrnent, showing the mechanism for lockincr the drawer either o n or closed.
in the 1dro-wings: T .e numeral 1, designates e table top, and 2, :t portion of the 'ironie ot the tiible. To the lower side ot the trible top :ire secured the`peir of supporting 'nietes or brackets 3, arranged in parallel rehilioii to erich other. These 'plates may be inode iii one continuous piece having en .ingiiler linee or securing iliinge 4, through which suitable screws or other 'fastenings 5, ere Missed.
l The driiwer or troy to be conveniently received locking the re- 6, is of thepro'per size under the top of to two oi its opposite lower edges, the plates 7. Passing under the bottom of the dri'iwei iiiid through openingsi, in 'the plates 7, :ire the piiir ol' piu-allelorrenged bers 9, which itt their outer ends, are'bentet ll), on ii plone :it right :ingles to the portion which posses under the drawer, and terminating iii liiteriilly bent portions il, which poss through openings i12, in the swipportiniir plaies, sind i'orni the piro tal supports to the drawer. The exi/reino ends of the rods or hairs itre riveted et 13, oi' provided with suitable lieiidod iiiisteiiings for preventing; dis-locution. ot the rods from the nietes. 'lho distance between the rods at the point oi connection with the drawer ond the support-.ing plates, is the seine, so that the rods :irc piiiiiliel iii ell positions, causing. 'the driiwor to reiniiin in it horizontal plone while the sonic being; swung down or up. The onguier suppertin;P portions l0, of the bers niiiy beiorne l with e sliflit bend 14, so that the bers wili eiisiiy clear die table freine, rind this construction soinewhiit strengthens the bers.
Mounted in bearings l5, on the bottoni of the driiwer :ind passing,n lengtiiwisothe sonic, is a, hitch rod to, herring ot each end, the u turned portions 17, pii'riillel to the ends oi t ie drawer, ond teriiiinoiiiig iii the nnguhii' hitch or hooked portions i9, are secured to the roble top iiiid sire adopted to be engaged hy the Brackets 20, :ire inoii'iited on the ends oi the drawer, so iis to :illow limited swinging nio- Ation ot' the rod. il, longue or thuiiib piece 21, extends downward from the hitch rod neiir one end thereof, ind iii coiiibiiiitiioii with the stationery riieiiiber or lliiiiiibnioce 22, forms o liiind hold by which the liitci i rod is ii rocking iiioiioii to rel/cese it liroin engagement with the keepers. ji spring 23, beers again-st one end oi" the hitch rod :ind tends to koop 'it in cngegein entrvth the keepers. A koe er o1-hoek 24, is niso secured nein.' thev lower ci ot' one ci the ineiiiliers oi the table friiiiio, :ind adapted to be engaged by the hitch rod when the drawer is projected. lt will thus bo seen that the drawer niiiy be locked either iii the closed or the' extended position, :ind iiiey be released A.troni such position by operating' the hitch rod.
Freni the above description teken in connection with the drawings, it will be evident that lihere provided nii' attachment by moons ol which e. drawer oi' troy niiiy reiidilv (bitches or keepersl latches on the rod.
