Abstract

AN IMPROVED DOMINO GAME ASSEMBLY IS PROVIDED IN WHICH THE DOMINOES ARE PACKED ON THE CRIBBAGE BOARD UTILIZED TO SCORE THE GAME. THE CRIBBAGE BOARD WITH THE DOMINOES FIT SNUGLY WITHIN A CONTAINER FROM WHICH THEY ARE REMOVED BY GRASPING PAIRS OF SCORING PINS. THE PINS ARE PROVIDED AT OPPOSITE ENDS OF THE CRIBBAGE BOARD AT AN ACUTE ANGLE TO THE VERTICAL SO THAT WHEN EACH PAIR OF PINS IS GRASPED BETWEEN THE THUMB AND FOREFINGER OF EACH HAND, THE CRIBBAGE BOARD AND THE ASSEMBLED DOMINOES MAY BE READLY REMOVED FROM OR PLACED IN THE BOX.

United States Patent Oflice 3,702,703 CRIBAGE BOARD AND CONTAHWER ASSEMBLY FOR DOMINOES Clair 0. Du Bois, Pebble Beach, Calif., assignor to Clair 0. Du Bois and Charles W. Johnson, doing business 5 as Putter-Craft Company, Pacific Grove, Calif.
Filed Nov. 24, 1971, Ser. No. 201,800 Int. Cl. A63f 9/20 US. Cl. 273-148 R 1 Claim ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved domino game assembly is provided in which the dominoes are packed on the cribbage board utilized to score the game. The cribbage board with the dominoes fit snugly within a container from which they are removed by grasping pairs of scoring pins. The pins are provided at opposite ends of the cribbage board at an acute angle to the vertical so that when each pair of pins is grasped between the thumb and forefinger of each hand, the cribbage board and the assembled dominoes may be readily removed from or placed in the box.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is in general the broad object of the present invention to provide an improved domino game assembly.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT In the drawings, numeral 6 refers generally to the container having a rectangular configuration. The container includes a lower or base portion 7 upon which is a recessed 3,702,703 Patented Nov. 14, 1972 top 8 attached by hinge 9. A cribbage board, generally indicated at 11, is provided having opposite ends 12 and 13, the space between the opposite ends being recessed to receive a set of dominoes, generally indicated at 14. The depth of the top 8 in relation to the bottom 7 of the container is such that when the top 8 is in closed position, the entire assembly is covered.
In accordance with this invention, opposite recesses 16 and 17 are provided in each of the ends 12 and 13 to receive pins 18 and 19, the latter being used to score the game on the cribbage board provided with the usual number of scoring holes (not shown) along the lower face 17 on the cribbage board.
By providing the recesses 16 and 17 for the pins 18 and 19 in such fashion that the pins extend outwardly at an acute angle to the vertical and away from the vertical plane, one is able to remove the board and assembled dominoes or replace the assembled board and dominoes by grasping the opposite sets of pins between the thumb and forefinger as appears in FIG. 1 of the drawings.
I claim:
1. A domino assembly including a rectangular container having a top and bottom, a cribbage board fitting snugly in the container and having opposite raised ends to receive a set of dominoes between such ends, each end having a pair of spaced receptacles for receiving counting pins to be used in scoring the domino game, the receptacles of each pair each being at an acute angle extending outwardly away from each other with respect to a vertical plane passed through the cribbage board.
