SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent No. 280,100, dated June 26, 1883.

To all whom it may concern.- Be it known that 1, ANDREW J. UPHAM, of Sterling, in the county of \Vhiteside and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and use- 5 ful Improvements in Barbed"VIetalStri p Fencing and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification,

The nature of my invention consists in the combination, with a flat metal strip, of a sheetmetal barb stamped or cut out and attached 2o thereto in a peculiar manner, to be hereinafter more fully described.
