Abstract

A method for tailoring garments includes steps for browsing and selecting a manufacturing country and a main design for a garment, browsing and selecting auxiliary designs for the main design, inputting sizes and dimensions of the user for the garment, finalizing the main design and the auxiliary designs for the garments, patterning fabric with grade marking in an off-line workshop according to the main design, cutting the fabric according to the grade marking in the off-line workshop, finishing the garment in the off-line workshop using the cut fabric and auxiliary material procured according to the auxiliary designs, and delivering the finished garment to the user in the off-line workshop.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a method for tailoring garments.
  • Applicant has worked in the fashion industry for ladies for several decades, and the biggest difficulty has been how to make garments fitting the bodies and how create new designs for them.
  • However, it is a totally different thing to come up with a solution, even though the problems have been well-known for a long time.
  • Since the fashion industry keeps moving forward with unexpected contortions across the space and time of the community.
  • The style of garments depends heavily on the space and time, that is, regions or countries and seasons or years, such that it seems to be almost impossible to follow the styles closely.
  • Accordingly, a need for a method for tailoring garments has been present for a long time considering the expansive demands in the everyday life. This invention is directed to solve these problems and satisfy the long-felt need.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention contrives to solve the disadvantages of the prior art.
  • An object of the invention is to provide a method for tailing garments.
  • An aspect of the invention provides a method for tailoring garments, comprising steps for:
  • (a) a user's logging in a website;
  • (b) browsing and selecting a manufacturing country and a main design for a garment from a plurality of ready-made main designs displayed in the website;
  • (c) browsing and selecting a plurality of auxiliary designs for the main design from a plurality of ready-made auxiliary designs displayed in the website;
  • (d) inputting sizes and dimensions of the user for the garment in the website;
  • (e) finalizing the main design and the plurality of auxiliary designs for the garments in the website;
  • (f) patterning fabric with grade marking in an off-line workshop according to the main design finalized in the step (e) by the user and downloaded from the website;
  • (g) cutting the fabric according to the grade marking in the off-line workshop;
  • (h) finishing the garment in the off-line workshop using the cut fabric and auxiliary material procured according to the auxiliary designs downloaded from the website; and
  • (i) delivering the finished garment to the user in the off-line workshop.
  • The website may be provided in a computer network through a cloud computing environment.
  • The step (b) may comprise steps for:
  • (b-1) a designer's accessing an on-line design room and selecting a country in the cloud computing environment;
  • (b-2) designing the plurality of main designs for the selected country in the on-line design room, which is equipped with virtual designing tools; and
  • (b-3) uploading the plurality of main designs to the website, such that the user browses the plurality of main designs.
  • The on-line design room may be further equipped with virtual fabric, buttons, zippers, accessories and mannequins configured to be used with the virtual designing tools.
  • The step (b-2) may comprise steps for:
  • fitting one of the plurality of main designs to one of the mannequins; and
  • correcting and finalizing the one of the plurality of main designs.
  • The virtual fabric, buttons, zippers, accessories, and mannequins may be provided by streaming from the cloud computing environment.
  • The virtual fabric, buttons, zippers, accessories, and mannequins are downloaded from a server in the network.
  • The method may further comprise a step for (b-4) uploading a custom-made main design if the user does not select from the plurality ready-made main design the step (b).
  • The custom-made main design may comprise pictures and drawings downloaded from an Internet or taken by the user's personal information device such as a smart phone.
  • The plurality of auxiliary designs may comprise fabric, buttons, zippers, and accessories.
  • The off-line workshop may equipped with garment-fabricating material and equipments.
  • The custom-made main design may comprise pictures and drawings downloaded from an Internet or taken by the user's personal information device such as a smart phone, and the off-line workshop may be provided with a main design corresponding to the pictures and drawings.
  • The off-line workshop in the step of finishing may be in a headquarter when the finishing includes one or more difficult works.
  • The off-line workshop in the step of finishing may be close to an address of the user when the finishing does not include one or more difficult works.
  • The advantages of the present invention are: (1) the method according to the invention allows the user to participate the process of designing; and (2) the method facilitates creation of new designs from the sides of designers and users.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
  • FIGS. 1-4 show a method and a system according to embodiments of the present invention. FIGS. 5-9 show schematic screen diagrams for designers or users.
  • An aspect of the invention provides a method for tailoring garments as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • And the method comprises steps for:
  • (a) a user's logging in a website;
  • (b) browsing and selecting a manufacturing country and a main design for a garment from a plurality of ready-made main designs displayed in the website;
  • (c) browsing and selecting a plurality of auxiliary designs for the main design from a plurality of ready-made auxiliary designs displayed in the website;
  • (d) inputting sizes and dimensions of the user for the garment in the website;
  • (e) finalizing the main design and the plurality of auxiliary designs for the garments in the website;
  • (f) patterning fabric with grade marking in an off-line workshop according to the main design finalized in the step (e) by the user and downloaded from the website;
  • (g) cutting the fabric according to the grade marking in the off-line workshop;
  • (h) finishing the garment in the off-line workshop using the cut fabric and auxiliary material procured according to the auxiliary designs downloaded from the website; and
  • (i) delivering the finished garment to the user in the off-line workshop.
  • The website 10 may be provided in a computer network through a cloud computing environment 90 as shown in FIG. 4.
  • In certain embodiments, the website 10 may include an order room 20 for the user 92 and a design room 30 for the designer 94 as shown in FIG. 3.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, the step (b) may comprise steps for:
  • (b-1) a designer's accessing an on-line design room 30 and selecting a country in the cloud computing environment 90;
  • (b-2) designing the plurality of main designs for the selected country in the on-line design room 30, which is equipped with virtual designing tools; and
  • (b-3) uploading the plurality of main designs to the website 10, such that the user browses the plurality of main designs as shown in FIG. 7.
  • Therefore, the user 92 may access the website 10 from one country, select another country, and design or order garments from the selected country.
  • The on-line design room 30 may be further equipped with virtual fabric, buttons, zippers, accessories and mannequins configured to be used with the virtual designing tools as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7.
  • The step (b-2) may comprise steps for:
  • fitting one of the plurality of main designs to one of the mannequins as shown in FIG. 6; and
  • correcting and finalizing the one of the plurality of main designs.
  • The virtual fabric, buttons, zippers, accessories, and mannequins may be provided by streaming from the cloud computing environment 90.
  • The virtual fabric, buttons, zippers, accessories, and mannequins are downloaded from a server in the network.
  • The method may further comprise a step for (b-4) uploading a custom-made main design if the user 92 does not select from the plurality ready-made main design the step (b).
  • The custom-made main design may comprise pictures and drawings downloaded from an Internet or taken by the user's personal information device such as a smart phone.
  • The plurality of auxiliary designs may comprise fabric, buttons, zippers, and accessories.
  • The off-line workshop may equipped with garment-fabricating material and equipments.
  • The custom-made main design may comprise pictures and drawings downloaded from an Internet or taken by the user's personal information device such as a smart phone, and the off-line workshop may be provided with a main design corresponding to the pictures and drawings.
  • The off-line workshop 40 in the step of finishing may be in a headquarter when the finishing includes one or more difficult works.
  • The off-line workshop 40 in the step of finishing may be close to an address of the user when the finishing does not include one or more difficult works.
  • Referring to FIG. 5, the website 10 may look as illustrated, and can be accessed by the users or buyers 92 and the designers 94 through clickable hyper links.
  • The website 10 may encourage people to be a user 92 or a designer 94. It may solicit and teach regular people to be a user 92 or a designer 94. That way, the present invention can provide the people including designers and users with a center in which they can meet up each other to sell or buy their designing talents and purchasing power.
  • Referring to FIG. 6, the designer 94 is provided with all the tools 50 and virtual fabric, buttons, zippers, accessories, mannequins, etc. as displayed on the screen 110. The designer 94 enters his or her own design room 30 provided in the website 10. He may use a tool box 52 launched by the tools 50 and start to design with solid lines (S) and dashed lines (D) for linings, which are provided as a part of the tool box. He can design by sketching or grabbing and dropping method (DD) that is well known in the art. As illustrated, the designed garment 96 may be dragged and dropped on the mannequin 60. Then the garment is put on the mannequin 60. In order to increase the quality, he may take pictures of design sample or sketches with his camera or smart phone, upload, and work on them in his design room 30. Alternatively, the designed may be finished with some graphic information from the cloud. In the “Sample”, parts or portions of the garments that are hard to draw with a mouse may be provided as samples.
  • Referring to FIG. 7, the designer 94 may find and use everything from fabric to a small part for garments from the screen 110. By choosing and applying necessary operations, the designer 94 may proceed designing the garment 96 displayed on the screen 110.
  • Referring to FIGS. 8 and 9, the user 92 may look at front and rear views of the garments 96 as illustrated before buying. If the user 92 finished to choose the main design as in FIG. 8, he can input dimensions or measures 70 for his garment 96 and select fabric, button, zipper, samples, etc. from the toolbox 52.
  • The tools 50 used by the designers 94 may be also used by the users 92 in his processes for designing or buying or ordering.
  • While the invention has been shown and described with reference to different embodiments thereof, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that variations in form, detail, compositions and operation may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the accompanying claims.

Claims (14)

What is claimed is:
1. A method for tailoring garments comprising steps for:
(a) a user's logging in a website;
(b) browsing and selecting a manufacturing country and a main design for a garment from a plurality of ready-made main designs displayed in the website;
(c) browsing and selecting a plurality of auxiliary designs for the main design from a plurality of ready-made auxiliary designs displayed in the website;
(d) inputting sizes and dimensions of the user for the garment in the website;
(e) finalizing the main design and the plurality of auxiliary designs for the garments in the website;
(f) patterning fabric with grade marking in an off-line workshop according to the main design finalized in the step (e) by the user and downloaded from the website;
(g) cutting the fabric according to the grade marking in the off-line workshop;
(h) finishing the garment in the off-line workshop using the cut fabric and auxiliary material procured according to the auxiliary designs downloaded from the website; and
(i) delivering the finished garment to the user in the off-line workshop.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein the website is provided in a computer network through a cloud computing environment.
3. The method of claim 1, wherein the step (b) comprises steps for:
(b-1) a designer's accessing an on-line design room and selecting a country in the cloud computing environment;
(b-2) designing the plurality of main designs for the selected country in the on-line design room, which is equipped with virtual designing tools; and
(b-3) uploading the plurality of main designs to the website, such that the user browses the plurality of main designs.
4. The method of claim 3, wherein the on-line design room is further equipped with virtual fabric, buttons, zippers, accessories, and mannequins configured to be used with the virtual designing tools.
5. The method of claim 4, wherein the step (b-2) comprises steps for:
fitting one of the plurality of main designs to one of the mannequins; and
correcting and finalizing the one of the plurality of main designs.
6. The method of claim 4, wherein the virtual fabric, buttons, zippers, accessories, and mannequins are provided by streaming from the cloud computing environment.
7. The method of claim 4, wherein the virtual fabric, buttons, zippers, accessories, and mannequins are downloaded from a server in the network.
8. The method of claim 1, further comprising a step for (b-4) uploading a custom-made main design if the user does not select from the plurality ready-made main design the step (b).
9. The method of claim 8, wherein the custom-made main design comprises pictures and drawings downloaded from an Internet or taken by the user's personal information device such as a smart phone.
10. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of auxiliary designs comprise fabric, buttons, zippers, and accessories.
11. The method of claim 1, wherein the off-line workshop is equipped with garment-fabricating material and equipments.
12. The method of claim 1, wherein the custom-made main design comprises pictures and drawings downloaded from an Internet or taken by the user's personal information device such as a smart phone, and wherein the off-line workshop is provided with a main design corresponding to the pictures and drawings.
13. The method of claim 1, wherein the off-line workshop in the step of finishing is in a headquarter when the finishing includes one or more difficult works.
14. The method of claim 1, wherein the off-line workshop in the step of finishing is close to an address of the user when the finishing does not include one or more difficult works.
