Abstract
A golf bag with a base body with at least one insertion compartment for golf clubs, such that the base body includes at least one magnetic holding device. To equip a golf bag in such a way that it can be attached in stationary manner on a trolley, it is proposed with the invention that on the upper edge and on the foot of the base body at least one magnetic holding device should be positioned in each case, by which the base body can be attached on a trolley, such that corresponding magnetic reaction surfaces are positioned on a trolley and come into active connection with the magnetic holding devices of the base body.
Description
- The present application is a continuation of pending International patent application PCT/EP2009/009294 filed on Dec. 29, 2009 which designates the United States and claims priority from German patent application No. 10 2009 004 140.0 filed on Jan. 6, 2009.
- The invention relates to a golf bag with a base body comprising at least one insertion compartment for golf clubs, such that the base body comprises at least one magnetic holding device. In addition the invention relates to a trolley for receiving and transporting the golf bag.
- Golf bags for transporting golf clubs are known in the art in various embodiments. These golf bags serve primarily to keep golf clubs and also golf balls available to the player during a game of golf. Transport for the rather heavy golf bags is provided by so-called trolleys on which the golf bags can be attached by means of belts or bungee cords and similar straps.
- A generic golf bag is known, for example, from patent US 2006/0011682 A1. This manner of attaching the golf bags on trolleys has proven itself in the art; however, it repeatedly happens that the golf bag filled with golf clubs turns around its longitudinal axis on the trolley as the trolley moves over the irregular golf course, so that the player must pick up the golf bag and place it back on the trolley correctly if the golf bag is to be held securely on the trolley while good access is maintained to the golf clubs stored in the golf bag.
- On this basis, it is the object of the invention to design a golf bag in such a way that it can be secured easily and in stationary manner on a trolley.
- The fulfillment of this object is characterized according to the invention in that at least one magnetic holding device is configured on the upper edge as well as on the foot of the base body, and by said device the base body can be attached on a trolley, such that corresponding magnetic reaction surfaces, coming into active connection with the magnetic holding devices of the base body, are positioned on the trolley.
- This manner of attaching the golf bag on the trolley is not only especially simple, requiring no straps or bungee cords, but also retains the golf bag on the trolley in a manner that is secure against slipping and turning. This mounting of the golf bag on the trolley by at least two mounting points that are set at a distance from one another also ensures a secure, durably twist-proof retention of the golf bag on the trolley even with rather strong agitation, and thus the maintenance of a secure access to the golf clubs.
- Because of the inventive arrangement of at least one magnetic holding device on the base body of the golf bag, it is possible for the first time, on the one hand, to attach the golf bag itself on a corresponding magnetic holding device and, on the other hand, to attach additional components to the golf bag.
- According to a first embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that the at least one magnetic holding device should consist in each case of at least one magnet that comes into active connection with at least one magnetic reaction surface on another component.
- To configure the magnetic reaction surface that comes into active connection with the at least one magnet, it is proposed with the invention that said at least one magnetic reaction surface should be configured as a magnetic surface such as for example a metal plate or as a counter-magnet to the magnet of the golf bag.
- With an alternative or else additional embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that the at least one magnetic holding device should consist of at least one magnetic surface that comes into active connection with at least one magnet on another component.
- These magnetic holding devices, the magnet and magnetic surface or counter-magnet, are simple and easy to operate.
- According to a practical embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that at least one additional pocket should be capable of being attached on the base body by at least one additional magnetic holding device, such that at least one corresponding magnetic holding device in active connection with the magnetic holding device of the base body should be positioned on each additional pocket. Because of the simple magnetic application of additional pockets on the base body of the golf bag, the capacity and flexibility of the golf bag for accessories can be markedly increased.
- Advantageously, the base body of the golf bag comprises a magnetic surface for inserting several additional pockets each provided with at least one magnet, so that one or more additional pockets can be provided on the golf bag as needed.
- To mount the magnets that form one part of the magnetic holding device, it is proposed with the invention that the at least one magnet should be positioned in an insertion device positioned on the base body of the golf bag. Said insertion device can advantageously be removably attached on the base body of the golf bag, for example by means of a Velcro fastening or the like, so that even existing golf bags can be outfitted subsequently with the inventive magnetic holding device. In addition it is proposed with the invention that the insertion device should be advantageously provided with an anti-slip coating.
- To configure the magnetic surfaces that are in active connection with the magnets, it is proposed according to a practical embodiment of the invention that the at least one magnetic surface should be configured as a metal plate positioned on the base body of the golf bag and/or on the frame of the trolley.
- The invention in addition relates to a trolley for receiving and transporting a golf bag, such that the trolley comprises a frame equipped with a chassis and with at least one handle.
- To achieve the aforementioned object of the invention, it is proposed with the invention with respect to the trolley that at least one magnetic holding device should be positioned on the frame of the trolley and should be actively connected with at least one magnetic holding device positioned on the golf bag that is to be received and transported.
- Because of the inventive arrangement of at least one magnetic holding device on the frame of the trolley, it is possible for the first time, by means of a corresponding magnetic holding device, to attach the golf bag on the base body of the golf bag with simple operation so that it is secure against turning. Mounting the golf bag in this manner on at least two mounting points at a distance from one another also ensures, even at strong agitations, a safe and durable turn-proof securing of the golf bag on the trolley, so that golf players always have a good access to their golf clubs.
- The two magnetic reaction surfaces foreseen on the frame of the trolley are, according to the invention, configured as, for example, metallic surfaces or as counter-magnets to the magnets of the golf bag.
- Additional characteristics and advantages of the invention can be seen from the appended drawings, in which two embodiments of an inventive golf bag are shown merely by way of example, without restricting the invention to these embodiments.
