Abstract

A health care air bed having a mattress. The mattress includes several support air cells which are assembled at intervals on the mattress and are mutually connected with each other. Furthermore, a spongy mat is laid on the mattress so as to provide a level surface for the bed. A mouth is utilized for extracting and inflating air. The mouth is assembled at a side of the mattress. The support air cells are divided into five strips which support the neck, back, waist, hip and leg of human body respectively. This invention is applicable to a single air chamber or a double air chamber. The mattress for queen size and king size beds have two separate air chambers. In accordance with physiological characteristics of the human body, this invention designs support points at an interval so that the neck, back, waist, hip and leg of the human body can be effectively supported that is helpful to a person's health and extends human life.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • This invention relates to furniture. Specifically, the present invention relates to a health care air bed.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • Existing beds provide uniform support for a human body, but does not effectively support all parts of the human body. As a matter of fact, different parts of the human body require different support structures. By sleeping on an existing mattress for a long period of time, a human body may be seriously injured. A body is especially susceptible to injury to the backbone from the neck to the tailbone, which may result in distortion of the neck and backbone. Additionally, lack of sleep for a long period of time may result in neurasthenic.
  • Accordingly, an apparatus is needed which provides sufficient support to all parts of the human body. It is an object of the present invention to provide such an apparatus.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In one aspect, the present invention is a novel health care air bed designed in accordance with psychological characteristics of the human body, which is comfortable, convenient, solid and durable. The health care air bed includes a plurality of support air cells protruding over the mattress which are assembled at horizontal interval in relation to the mattress and which are connected with the support air cells. In addition, a spongy mat is laid on the surface of the mattress. Several grooves matching the air cells are made under the spongy mat for positioning the air cells upon. Thus, each groove is matched to support a single air cell. The air cell also includes an opening for extracting and inflating air into the air cell. The opening is preferably located at the side of the mattress.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a mattress in the preferred embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded view of a spongy mat utilized on the mattress of FIG. 1;
  • FIG. 3 is an exploded view of the mattress configured as a double bed; and
  • FIG. 4 is an exploded view of the mattress configured as a queen size bed.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is a health care air bed providing support to all parts of the human body. Referring to FIG. 1, the health care air bed includes a mattress 1 and a plurality of support air cells 4 assembled at intervals on the mattress 1. The air cells are connected to the mattress 1. An opening (mouth) 3 for inflating and extraction air is assembled at one side of the mattress 1.
  • The support air cells are divided into 5 strips which are designed to provide support to the neck, back, waist, hips and legs of the human body. Preferably, the mattress is constructed of a fabric and PVC which can be welded by a high-frequency welding machine. The spongy mat is preferably made of 25 kg/m3 foaming cotton. The present invention is applicable to any size bed, such as a single bed, a double size bed, a queen size bed, or a king size bed.
  • Referring to FIG. 2, a plurality of grooves 5 are located on the underside of a spongy mat 2. Referring to FIG. 3, the spongy mat 2 is laid on the mattress 1, thereby leveling the top surface of the bed. Each groove 5 is matched to support a single air cell 4.
  • Referring to FIG. 3, a double size bed 6 which is approximately 39″ wide and 74″ long is illustrated. The support air cell is preferably divided into 5 strips which support the neck, the back, the waist, the hip and the legs of human body respectively.
  • Referring to FIG. 4, a queen size bed 7 which is approximately 60″ wide and 80″ long is illustrated. Two separate air chambers 8 are made inside the mattress of the queen size bed 7. Each air chamber 8 may be filled separately. Thereby, every person may adjust the softness and hardness of the bed according to the body of each person, which ensures a good sleep for the user.
  • The present invention provides many advantages over existing beds. The present invention provides support at various points of the human body to effectively support the neck, back, waist, hips and legs of the human body. If utilized for an extended period of time, a user may enjoy a health benefit which may extend the user's life. The present invention is simple to manufacture and provides for a low production cost. The material only requires a proper cut and may be welded when producing the mattress.
  • While the present invention is described herein with reference to illustrative embodiments for particular applications, it should be understood that the invention is not limited thereto. Those having ordinary skill in the art and access to the teachings provided herein will recognize additional modifications, applications, and embodiments within the scope thereof and additional fields in which the present invention would be of significant utility.
  • Thus, the present invention has been described herein with reference to a particular embodiment for a particular application. Those having ordinary skill in the art and access to the present teachings will recognize additional modifications, applications and embodiments within the scope thereof.
  • It is therefore intended by the appended claims to cover any and all such applications, modifications and embodiments within the scope of the present invention.
