1 Claim.
This invention relates to articles of furniture,
but particularly to chairs and the like, and an object is to produce a chair having the newand improved features of construction, arrangement and operation hereinafter described.

In order to enhance the appearance of the chair, a canvas covering 32 extends over each end frame. The covering 2 may be in the form 7 of a slip which can be pulled down over each end frame. and the outer side thereof extends to a point adjacent the cross bars 12. whereas the inner side terminates short of the seat 14.
It is to be understood that numerous changes in details of construction. arrangement and operation may be effected without departing from the spirit of the invention, especially as defined in the appended claim.
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
A chair comprising a supporting standard having a pair of laterally spaced uprights. a seat 'structure disposed between said uprights. horizontal braces connecting said uprights and disposed directly beneath said seat structure, said seat structure comprising a seat frame, vertically disposed laterally spaced supporting bars arranged in pairs on opposite sides of said seat frame, means for rigidly securing said vertical bars to said seat frame below the upper ends of said uprights, an extension on each vertical bar projecting below said seat frame, a pair of substantially U-shaped cradle supports for said scat structure, swinging connections between the upper ends of said cradle supports and said laterally spaced uprights, said extensions being apertured to receive said cradle supports whereby the weight of said seat structure is imparted to said cradle supports through said vertical bars. a horizontally disposed arm rest connecting the upper ends of each pair of vertical bars each arm rest projecting laterally over and coveringthe upper end of the adjacent upright, a back rest, and means connecting said back rest to said seat frame.
