Further objects of the .invention are to provide, in amanner as hereinafter set forth, a locking attachment for the purpose referred to which is simple in its construction and arrangement, strong,-durable, com pact, readily installed with respect to the service valve without changing the construction of the latter, thoroughly efficient in use, and comparatively inexpensive to manufacture. 7
To the above ends essentially and toothers which may hereinafter appear, the invention consists of such parts and such combination of parts which fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.

The locking attachment includes a cap element 8 or 8, a holder element 9 and a locking element 10. The element 9 is for extension into a pair of spaced parts of elements 8'.or 8 and the element 10 functions to lock an element 8 or 8" and element 9 together and to-the cock.
The element 8 comprises'a hollow body part 11 closed at its topas at 8and open at its bottom. The body part 11 is cylindrical. Formed integral with and intermediate the ends of body part 11 is a pair of spaced lateral extensions.12, 13. The extension 12 is of greater length than extension 13 and is formed with a rectangular socket 14 extending lengthwise thereof. The mouth of socket 14 is at the bottom face of extension 12. The extension 13 intermediateits ends is provided with a circular socket 15 having its mouth at the bottom. face thereof. The diameter of socket 15 is greater than the width and less than the length of socket 14. The extension 13 is formed with a pair of aligning openings 15 which communicate with socket 14.
The holding element 9 is of inverted U- shape and comprises a bottom 16 and a pair of arms 17, 18, the former being of circular cross section. The arm 18- for the major portion 19 of its length is of circular cross section and its remaining portion which is the upper part 20thereof flattened and of rectangular contour. The thickness of part 20 is less than the diameter of the circular portion '19 of the arm 18. The length of part 20 is greater than the diameter of portion '19. The part 20 is provided centrally thereof with an opening 21.
The element 10 consists of a lock of the hasp type. and the pivoted hasp of the lock at 23.

is then passed through the aligning openings and latched to the lock body 22. When the attachment is in the position'referred to, the cook or valve will be locked to prevent means 7 thereof-from beingshifted to open the cock or valve. The lattercannot be opened until cap element 8 is removed.
Although-the holder element 9 of the looking attachment is illustrated as connected to leg a, due to the position in which the element 8 is placed, yet it is obvious that element 8 can be turned from the position shown to enable the holderelement 9 to be connected to leg 3. r r i The cap element 8, as shown in Figures 5,. 6 and-7. comprises a hollow body part which is closed at its top and formed of a cylindrical lower portion 11 and a reduced rectangular, lower portion 11''. Formed integral with the upper end of portion 24: is apair of spaced lateral extensions 12, 13 of the same form and arrangement as sockets in 'members 12, 13' are indicated at l2, 13 respectively. The bottom edge of portion 11 at the sides thereof have convex cutout portions 25 forpartly encompassing thelegs, 5 injproximityto their points of mergence with the housing 2.: The exten sion 12 is formed with openings 26 for the same purposeas the openings 15. The cap element 8 performs the same function as that of cap element 8" and coacts with elements 9 and 10 in the same ment 8. That I claim is v v i g 1. In a locking attachmentior a service cock, a hollow closed top cap element for mounting against the cock for enclosing the cocks valve member shifting means, said element being provided with spaced laterally extending socket forming extensions, a holder element for extension around a part ofthe cock and including a pair of arms having their outer ends positioned in the sockets formed by the extensions and a locking element including a member passing through one of said extensions and the outer end of that arm arranged in the socket providedby such extension for locking the cap and holder element together-and to the cock. 2. In locking attachment for a service cock, a hollow closed top cap element for mounting against the cock for enclosing the cocks valve member shifting means, said element being provided with-spaced lateral-- 1y extending socket forming extensions, a holder element for extension around a part of the cock and including a pair of arms having their outer ends positioned in the sockets formed by the extensions and, a look ing element including a member passing through one of said extensions and the outer end of that arm arranged in the socket provided by such extension for lockingthe cap manner as ele1 andholder element-together and to the cock,

In a locking attachment for a service cock, a hollow cap element for completely covering the cocks valve member shifting means, said element being formedwith a pair of spaced lateral extensions, a U-shaped holding element for partly surrounding a portionof the cock and having the upper ends of the arms thereof completely covered by said extensions, and a locking element including means passing through one a of the extensions and that end of an arm
