IMPROVEMENT IN ROCKERS AND TRACKS FOR CRADLES AND CHAIRS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 180,933, dated August 8, 1876; application filed Februaryfi, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DANIEL RUPP, of Four Corners, Jefferson county, Iowa, have invented a new and Improved Rocker and Track for Cradles and Chairs, of which the following is a specification:
Figure 1 is a side view of my improved rockers and tracks, and Fig. 2 is a top view of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The object of my invention is to furnish an improved rocker and track for cradles and chairs, which shall be so constructed that the rocker shall always have a smooth surface to rock upon, however rough the floor may be,
or however soft the carpet, which will not move about upon the floor, and will prevent the cradle or chair from tipping over.
The invention consists of a track having a right-angled bracket with a V-shaped slot, in
combination with a cradle-rocker, having a pin which enters the slot in the bracket.
A represents the track, upon the upper side of which rests the rocker B. To the middle part of the inner side of the track A is attached a right-angled bracket, 0, to the horizontal arm of which is attached the end of a bar, by which it is connected to the track for the other rocker. bracket 0 is formed a V-shaped slot, 0, to receive a pin, b, attached to the inner side of the rocker B. The slot 0 and pin b keep the rocker B in place upon the track A, and at the same time serve as stops to limit its motion, so that it cannot rock far enough for the cradle or chair to tip over. To the lower side of the ends of the track A are attached rubber blocks a, to prevent the said track from slipping about upon the floor and carpet.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The track A, having a right-angled bracket, 0, with a V-shaped slot, 0, in combination with the cradle-rocker B, provided with a pin, b, as and for the purpose set forth.
