This appllcation relates to a refrigerating apparatus, and more particularly to a refrigerator in which the. refrigerating machinery is resiliently mounted'and flexibly suspended.
Another object of this invention is to pro vide a flexible suspension for machinery adapted to be used in a refrigerating system.
Another object of this invention is to provide a flexible support particularly adapted for machinery having a'rotary member and a reciprocating member.
Further ob ects and advantages of the present invention will be apparent from the following description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, wherein a preferred form of the present invention is clearly shown.

Fig. l is a side elevation of a refrigeration system showing the compressor and motor more or less in detail mounted on a resilient and flexible support, and with the remainder of the system shown diagrammatically;

A refrigeration system, in which features of my invention are embodied, is generally designated as 20. If of the compressor-condenser type, it may comprise a motor 21 drivingly connected to a compressor 22. The compressor 22 then delivers compressed refri gerant through the line 23 to the condenser 24. Liquefied refrigerant, in this type of system, is delivered to receiver 25 from the condenser 24. The receiver 25 delivers liquid refrigerant to an evaporator 26 through line 27. The entrance of refrigerant to the evaporator 26 may be controlled by a float valve, not shown. The evaporator 26 delivers evaporated refrigerant through the line 28 back to the crankcase of the com ress'or 22. The
--low pressure line 28 may connected by means of a branch 29 to an expansiblebellows 30 which operates a snap switch 31 controlling the starting and stopping of the motor 21.
The motor 21 and compressor 20 may be resiliently mounted and flexibly suspended. The lines 23 and 28 may have resilientportions so that vibrations of the compressor are not transmitted to the remainder of the system. In the preferred embodiment, the
motor 21 and compressor 22 are mounted on an inverted channel-shaped platform 40. This platform 40 may have an ear 41 upwardly directed and, if desired, this ear 41 may be struck from. the floor 42 of the platform 40 so that it is integral with theplatform. The upper end of the ear 41 is 'prcvided with an enlargement 43 having an opening formed therein to receive a bar 44. The bar 44 may be keyed at 45 to the car 41. At the ends of the bar 44 may be keyed flat arch-shaped springs 46. The springs may be formed by flat resilient portions 47 having, for instance, castings 48 bolted thereto which are provided with openings for the ends of the bar 44. The springs 46 maybe keyed to the bar 44 by means of keys 49. Thus. the platform 40 is rigidly connected to the rocker-like springs 46.
The springs 46 are adapted to rock on straps 50 which may be suspended 'at each end by means of supports 51 which, if desired, may be resilient. Near the ends of the 'hanger secured to said member, an arcshaped spring secured to said hanger and falling oil the straps 50. The supports 51, if resilient, permit a slight amount of freedom in movement of the strap 50.
The bar 44 is substantiallyin the axis of oscillation of the members 21 and 22. The motor 21 drives the compressor 22 preferably through the belt 53. The motor 21, which may be rotary in combination with the compressor 22 which may have a crank turning about the axis 54 tends to impart to the platform 40 a rocking movement about an axis substantially coincident with the bar 44. The straps 50, together with the spring 46 tend to allow a slight rocking movement about the bar 44 and prevent .a lateral movement of the platform 40.
Thus I provide a support in which the ma chinery is mounted on a platform which rocks on a flexible suspension. This rocking movement tends to permit the machinery to take its natural vibration and does not transmit it to the place where it is mounted. The resiliency of supports 51 aid in permitting the natural rocking movement.

While the form of embodiment of the invention as herein disclosed constitutes a preferred form, it is to be understood that other forms might be adopted, all coming within the scope of the claims which'follow.
What is claimed is as follows:
1. In a support for driving and driven members oscillating about a substantially definite axis, the combination of a supporting member, means for floatingly support ing said member substantially about said axis of oscillation, said means including upwardly concave stra members and means connecting said mem er to said strap.
2. In a support for driving and driven members oscillating about a substantially definite axis, the combination of a supporting member, means for floatingly supporting said member substantially about said axis of oscillation, said means including an upwardly concave strap, resilient means on said strap and means connecting said member to said resilient means.
3. In a support for driving and driven members oscillating about a substantially definite axis, the combination of a supporting member, means for floatingly supporting said member substantially about said axis of oscillation, said means including a an upwardly "concave strap on which said arc-shaped spring rests. 4.
