Description

tented lives. 19, 1929 JULIUS A. WHITE, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
FOLDING FOOT AND LEG REST Application filed March 2, 1927. Serial No. 172,043.
The object of this invention is to provide a new and improved folding foot and leg rest and to this end the invention consists of the construction herein described and illustrated m in the accompanying sheet of drawings in which Figure 1 is a view showing how the same is used;
Figure 2 is an elevation as the user sees m the same;
Figure 3 is a bottom plan view of the same looking upward;
Figure 4 is a bottom plan View with the parts in folded position;
5 Figure 5 is a side elevation of the parts shown in Figure a; and
Figures 6 and 'i' are detail views on an enlarged scale, showing the engaging means hereinafter described.
an Referring to the drawings and in detail, A designates a base or foundation board and B a supporting board which is pivoted to the board A by hinges C. A leaf D is pivoted to the base board A by a hinge E. The supportat ng board B has a curved slot cut therein over which is placed a slotted plate l3 which is held in position by suitable screws. The slotted plate F has an enlarged end G. The leaf l) is provided with a headed stud or screw ll. The base board A is provided with rubbers w-a.
The parts are shown as folded in Figures l and 5. W hen it is desired to use the rest the supporting board B is turned up at right as angles on the base A. This will cause the headed screw H automatically to engage in the enlarged end G of the slotted plate F. The leaf 1D is then turned so as to extend perpendicularly from the base A and as this acto tion takes place the headed screw H will travel in the slot in the plate F and when the parts are fully opened out, they will be locked rigidly in position. a. When the parts are opened out they can be used as shown in Figa5 ure 1. After use the parts may be folded together and the rest stored in small space.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim is A folding foot and leg rest comprising a to base board, a supporting board hinged there- JULIUS A. WHITE.
