Be it known that I, CHARLES M1 WILLS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Atlantic City, in the county of Atlantic and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Wearing App of which the following is a full, clear, and exact specification,

The device of my invention refers to childrens wearing apparel and refers particularly to diapers.

There are 'many objectionable features incidcnt to the generally employed diapers, among which may be mentioned the necessity of pine with their accompanying inconvenience to the person applying the article and the danger to the wearer; the use of buttons or metallic fasteners, which are liable to cause discomfort and which do not allow of a change of size of the article; the liability to attach the article in too loose or too tight condition, resulting in ineffectiveness, or discomfort, and the difiiculty of proper arr'hngement due to the movement of the wearer.

The device of my invention overcomes all of these objectionable features and presents a diaper which can be employed without the use of separate pins and hard fastening means, and hence, is free from the inconvenience and danger of their use; which can always be applied in a uniform condition of looseness, thus being always effective and comfortable, and which can be readily and rapidly arran ed without disengagement during its app ication.

The device of my invention comprises a body portion of suitable material carrying a plurality of bands and means whereby the bands may be employed to aflix the device in any desired degree of tightness, or looseness, upon the body of an infant.

The particular form of the device of my invention, shown in the accompanying drawings, comprises a triangular body portion 10, to which is attached a waist band 11, carrying the loops 12, 13, 14 and 15. Fixedly attached to the body portion 10 are the side bands 16 and 17 and the central band 18.

To employ the device, the infant is laid upon the device with the waist band 11 positioned at its waist line. The Waist band portion 11 is then brought forwardly around the waist of the infant, passed through the loop 15 and tied thereto. The waist band portion 11 is brought forwardly around the waist of the infant, passed through the loop 13 and tied thereto. The central band 18 is then brought up forwardly between the legs of the infant,

passed through the loop 12 and tied thereto, and finally the side bands 16 and 17 are passed. through the loops 13 and 15, respeclively, and tied thereto.

The device, as shown in Figure 2, has thereupon been folded along the indicated dotted lines and assumes the position shown in Figure 1.

It is evident that the waist band 11 can be so positioned as to allow of its necessary and comfortable placement around the waist ofthe infant and that, by means of the bands 16, 17 and 18, the device can be so positioned as to allow of the free movement of the infants logs, without interfering with the purposes of the device.

My invention, therefore, presents a device of the described character, free from pins and undesirable hard fastening means and of such construction that it can be readily and properly fitted to an infant without discomfort and danger.

I do not limit myself to the particular size, shape and number of parts, as shown in the example, which is described simply as a means for clearly explaining my invention.

What I claim is In a device of the character specified, in combination, a triangular bod portion, a waist band carried by the be y portion, a loop carried by the waist band at approximately one angle of the bod portion, two loops carried by the waist )and each approximately one-quarter inwardly distanced from an angle of the body portion, a band carried by the end portion of the body porbyeach side of the body portion not attached to the Waist band capable of being inserted through one 9f the second mentioned loops when the device is in fblde'd position.
