BOOK CARRIER.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MARGARET MAoUrRE, a subject of the King of England, residing new and useful Improvements in Book Carriers, of-whioh the tion. V 1

Thisinvention is for improvements in or relating tobook or like carriers and has for its object to providera simple device'which can be readily attached to a book or like article and by which the latter can be conveniently carried. For convenience the term book will be employed herein to denote also other like articles, such for example as a portfolio orjcarrier for loose documents The invention and where the term book occurs it is to be understood to include all such articles. According to'thepresent invention a carrier comprises a fiexibleband which is combined with clips for detachably securing it to the freevedges respectively of the front and back covers of the book, is of such length as to pass-round the'back of the book from clip to clip and to leave one end portion extending clear of and beyond one of the clips, "and has means detachably to secure the said end portion to the opposite end of the band or to the other clip with a part of the said end portion remaining free to serve asa handle. 5 v

6. A book-carrier according to claim 1 wherein the clips are of such form that the band may be detachably secured to them.

A book-carrier comprising the combination of a flexible band having a loop at one end and a ring or D'at its other end, two clips to engage the book-covers, one of which clips has a gripping-device by which it can be adjusted in its position along the length of the band, and a book-marking device. I

7. A book-carrier according to claim 1 combined for the purpose described with a second flexible band adjustably secured to the flexible band of the book-carrier and arranged transversely of the latter, and means to secure the ends of the said second band.
