Be it known that I, Fmmors J. MAHONEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Edgewater, in the county of Bergen and State of New Jersey, have invented new and useful Improvements in Bottle Attachments, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to holding devices or attachments for bottles and aims to provide means for preventing the breakage of nursing bottles by an infant.

An object of the invention is the provision of a flexible holding means which may be quickly secured to or detached from a bottle and which when attached, will permit of the bottle being provide for the comfort of the child.

The particular point of novelty resides in the manner of securing the holding means, which is in the form of a flexible strip, around the bottle, the said means being constructed to facilitate the ready removal of the strip from the bottle for the purpose of ermitting filled.

Another object resides in the novel means of securing the buckle or fastening means to the flexible strip, so that'a new strip may be easily substituted should the occasion arlse.

Other objects and advanta es of the invention will appear when the fo lowing description is read in connection with the accompanying drawings, in which-'- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the invention attached to a nursing bottle, the latter being in position for use, while the strip or holding means is shown in engagement with the rail of a crib or other article;

Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the bottle illustrating the manner in which the buckle is adjusted to permit of the removal of the holder or for the purpose of enlarging or reducing the loop;

Referring to the drawings in detail, there is indicated at 10,.an infants nursing bottle, shown as rectangular in cross section, but it the latter to be washed and restamens of l r r t moved about sufliciently to v is obvious that other shapes, for example a round bottle may be used.

For the purpose of securing the bottle to some convenient point, for example a rail R of a crib or an equally convenient portion of a carriage, the invention provides a flexible holder, having one end attached to said crib or carriage and its opposite end formed with an adjustable loop which is designed to receive the bottle. The flexible strip is formed of suitable elastic fabric indicated at 11 and has secured at one end a hook 12 of any desired form. This end of the strip may be passed over the rail R and engage with a ring 13 through whichthe strip 11'is threaded.

The opposite end of the strip 11 is threaded through a buckle 14: which is of substantially rectangular form and is provided with alined slots 15, which are separated by the strip 16. One end of the strip is passed through one of the slots 15 and around the strip 16 and is folded or hemmed as shown at 17 to form a stop and prevent the withdrawal of this end of the strip through the buckle. The strip is then passed through one of the slots 15 to form a loop 18, which is designed to receive the bottle 10 and owing to its elasticity may be tightly adjusted around the bottle to prevent slipping of the bottle therefrom. The strip 11 is again passed through one of the slots 15 to form a loop 19 and located upon the strip within this loop is a ring 20 preferably flat as shown.

In adjusting the loop 18 upon the bottle, the strip is pulled through the buckle in the usual manner and tightly secured thereon to prevent the loop from slipping along the bottle. When it is desired to remove the strip or to further adjust the loop, the ring 20 is pulled outward to the position shown in Fig. 2, thereby forming the loop 19 shown in Fig. 3, thereby loosening the tension of the loop and permitting its easy adjustment or movement.

The invention is susceptible of various changes in form and proportion and of various other uses from that shown and described, for example the form of buckle is particularly adapted for use in connection with garters, the loop 20 being equally useful in this line of connection.
