observed, and wherein the buttons or the like will be securely retained, protected from contamination, and may be readily removed when required.

My invention comprises a sheet or piece of sufficiently thick material, such as cardboard, provided with a desired number of perforations to receive buttons or the like, and provided on one side with a backing sheetyand on the other side with a sheet having an opening provided with a transparent protector over said perforations, the buttons or the like being placed in said perforations and the last named sheet with its transparent protector secured to the card so that the transparent material overlies the buttons or the like to ret-ain them in place,to protect i .them from contamination, and to permit observation thereof.

My invention also comprises novel details of im-provement that will be more fully hereinafter set forth and then pointed ou-t in the claim.

In the accompanying drawings the' nu. meral 1 indicates a sheet or piece 0f material, suchy as suitable stiff cardboard, paper orthe like, provided with a desired number y of perforations 2 suitably spaced apart, adapted to receive buttons lor analogous small articles. At 4 is a. backing sheet which may be secured along the rear face of the sheet l, as by a suitable adhesive, to provide a wall for the perforations in said sheet against which wall the buttons or the like may rest. At 4EL is a covering sheet for sheet 1, which is provided with an opening 5 formed in such ya position as to disclose the articles 3 when the sheet 4L is secured upon sheet l. At 6 is 4a sheet of transparent material, such as Y gelatin or the like, secured between the sheets 4a and l, over the perforations and articles 3 in sheet 1. The inner face of sheet 4a may be provided with glue or other adhesive, indicated at 7 ,whereby the transparent sheet 6 may be secured to sheet 4a, and whereby the latter may be secured tothe stiff sheet l along the margin of the sheets 4a and 1, surrounding the series .of perforations 2. In the preferred form .of my invention sheets 4a, 4 will be made in a single piece, capable of being folded in a hinge-like manner at 8, at one edgeof sheet l, the arrangement being such that the perforated sheet `1 may be secured upon sheet 4 with the sheet 4a having its transparent protector 6 free therefrom in manner illustrated in Fig. l, ready for the articles 3 to be placed in perforations 2, before closing the sheet 4a. The display cards `may be manufactured in quantity in the manner stated ready for use, whereby the sheet 4a having the transparent protector v6 will be in proper position for closing upon sheet l.

With the device arranged as described the butt-ons or articles 3'may be placed in the perforations 2 of sheet l, and then the covering sheet 4a with its transparent protector 'may be closed upon sheet l and over the article's 3' and secured thereto, in manner as illustrated in Fig. 2.- The arrangement is such that the feature of having the sheet-4a connected with sheet 1 in a hinge-like manner-is advantageous for completion of the disp-lay card, since when the buttons or articles 3 have been placed in the perforations 2 of sheet 1, sheet 4a maybe closed and secured over the latter expeditiously and accurately by the' operator, as the hinge connection 8 will facilitate the bringing together of the lparts in proper position, whereby cost is re- Jduced, and a nicely finished article will result.

Having now described my invention what I claim is A display card comprising a sheet having perforations to receive' articles to be displayed and provided with a 'backing sheet secured along one face thereof over said perforations, the material of said backing sheet extending freely therefrom to fold in a hinge-like manner over the first named sheet as a covering sheet, and provided with an opening to expose the perfora-tions in the first named sheet, and a sheet of transparent material secured to the inner face of the covering sheet opposing its opening, said covering sheet andl the transparent sheet being secured upon the first named sheet for retaining the articles in the perforations thereof and to display said articles.
