Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an automatic soil treatment machine according to the preamble of
More particularly, the present invention relates to machines and methods for treating floors whose treatable floor space is restricted by fixed elements such as wall sections bounding the floor surface or elements arranged on the floor surface such as columns, inner wall sections or fixed shelves, and optionally by adjustable elements.
Many solutions are known from the prior art in which automatic floor cleaning machines independently carry out cleaning processes on building floors. There are two distinctively different approaches. In the first approach, the floor area is overrun at random, for example by selecting a random change of direction when hitting an obstacle. Because no map of the room to be cleaned and no plan for a convenient cleaning path is created, the storage space is small, but the effort for the machining movement is very large. Many areas are run over several times and a long cleaning time must be provided for as complete a cleaning as possible. This procedure is not suitable for professional cleaning.
In the second approach, the floor area is mapped as accurately as possible and an appropriate track determined. When cleaning, the departure of the planned route must be checked. In addition, a solution must be provided for avoiding obstacles and then finding the planned route. These solutions use to save the room map, plan the cleaning path, and save the cleaned areas of grids. Because the resolution of the grid must be as small as possible, correspondingly large amounts of data must be stored and processed.
In shops, display stands, signs, pallets, containers or direct products can always be arranged on other areas of the floor surface. Accordingly, for cleaning at predetermined intervals again and again with whole to count on other free ground surfaces. The known from the prior art solutions for professional automatic cleaning would have to map each new situations again and again, which is associated with an unreasonable effort. Therefore, automatic cleaning devices are not used in shops.
Automatic floor treatments are not limited to cleaning. For example, machining such as grinding the bottom surface or applying a surface layer may also be performed by an automatic soil treatment machine. The term "soil treatment" also covers the control of the soil surface or the measurement of the entire soil surface. Such measurements may be associated with treatments at selected locations. Floor areas mean not only areas in rooms, but also areas in the open air, and then, instead of walls, columns or other orientation elements, positioning areas can certainly be provided for position determination in order to make distance measurements. Outdoor soil treatment can include anything from cutting a lawn, to tilling, fertilizing, sowing, treating weeds, harvesting, looking for metal parts or even mines.
The object of the invention is now to find a simple solution that is associated with the least possible expense for the detection, the storage and the treatment movement. The solution should also be suitable for floor surfaces which comprise displaceable elements which are displaceable over a large proportion of area and thus variably positioned during treatment.
The object is achieved by a soil treatment machine having the features of
In the solution of the problem was recognized that can be dispensed with the mapping of the boundary of the ground surface, if the infrastructure is not determined by a map. With a few driving and storage steps, a simple and safe choice of a successful route can be guaranteed, with a track then successful is, if it covers the whole floor area, is as short as possible and also works with variably placed obstacles. The boundary of the ground surface is treated as an obstacle and therefore always detected when the soil treatment machine hits an area of the ground boundary. Obstacles and thus also the ground boundary are preferably detected by distance measurements of a scan sensor of the soil treatment machine, wherein the scan sensor is arranged in front of the drive wheels substantially in the height range of the drive wheels. In a preferred embodiment, a laser scanner is used which covers an angular range of 270 °.
So that obstacles or ground boundaries are detected which do not extend over the height ranges with the scan sensor, other sensors are also preferably used for obstacle detection. The soil treatment machine includes, for example, ultrasonic sensors and / or infrared sensors. The ultrasonic sensors are preferably aligned to detect obstacles that extend at a distance from the ground toward the interior of the floor surface. The infrared sensors are preferably directed against the ground to detect obstacles in the ground, especially steps.
For obstacle detection, the soil treatment machine may also comprise at least one contact sensor, wherein preferably at least one deflection sensor between a chassis and a front in the direction of travel housing portion is arranged. If an obstacle now comes into contact with the front housing area, the obstacle is detected, the ground treatment machine is stopped and the detected obstacle is bypassed.
In addition to the physical obstacles, the obstacles also include virtual obstacles, such as open doors that are not to be passed through. The virtual obstacles are input in a preferred embodiment via a control of the soil treatment machine and have the same effect as physical obstacles.
- defining a treatment direction with forward and backward orientation,
- the presetting of spaced driving lines perpendicular to the treatment direction,
- the departure of path segments on driving lines from starting points to end points,
- the determination of opposite directions of travel on adjacent driving lines,
- the setting of end points when driving on the respective driving line is not possible due to an obstacle detected by an obstacle detection device,
- the stored at each end points on a path segment storage of the starting point and the end point of the worn path segment and one of the states "fully treated" or "incompletely treated" and at least in "incompletely handled" additionally storing direction information, which is apparent from the direction information in which direction is incompletely treated from the corresponding endpoint,
- the contour following movement initiated at the end points to find respectively new starting points, in which the ground handling machine follows the obstacle until it encounters a driving line, wherein
the contour sequence movement begins in the direction of the respective current orientation of the treatment direction,
when meeting the traversed before the contour follower trajectory on a according to Wegsegmentspeicher not yet worn way segment there set a new starting point and the direction of this line is maintained,
when meeting an adjacent driving line on a according to Wegsegmentspeicher not yet worn way segment there defines a new starting point and the direction of travel of the adjacent driving line is selected,
when meeting a driving line on a Wegsegmentspeicher already traversed path segment the end of a group of adjacent path sections is determined, the controller then in the Wegsegmentspeicher an endpoint with the state "incompletely treated" searches and moves to a position search movement to from this end point in the orientation of the treatment direction stored at the endpoint is a new group of tackle adjacent sections of track until no endpoint with the state "incompletely treated" is left.
For the control of the already traveled or still to be traveled floor areas it is sufficient if for each end points on a Wegsegmentspeicher each of the starting point and the end point of the worn path segment and one of the states "fully treated" or "treated incomplete" and at least "incomplete "additionally a direction information is stored. The memory requirement for storing the treated area can be kept very small.
When driving along driving lines and in the contour follower movements, the current position and orientation of the ground handling machine is provided by a position detecting device. When driving along driving lines, it is checked whether the current position information matches positions on the current driving line. In case of deviations, the travel movement is corrected accordingly. The contour sequence movements use the current position information to detect the impact on a driving line. Because in the case of the contour following movements only the current or the next driving line can be encountered, only information for two driving lines has to be kept ready. When following the contour of an obstacle, the data for the obstacle must also be used.
If, during a contour following movement, the ground handling machine strikes a driving line at a point of impact, it must be checked whether this point of impact lies on an already traveled path segment. This can be checked with the current information of the path segment memory, if the point of impact is on a line between a pair of stored start and end points. Due to the small amount of data of the path segment memory, the reading and comparison effort for checking the impact point with respect to its possible position between stored start and end points is very small.
When driving along driving lines and when carrying out contour following movements, the requirements are for memory size and computing power small because the current positions need only be related to line equations and a small number of pairs of points.
The treatment direction and the travel lines perpendicular to the treatment direction are determined in a preferred embodiment by the positioning and orientation of the soil treatment machine at the start of a treatment mode. For this purpose, for example, it can be said that the triggering of the start of the treatment mode confirms that the current orientation of the soil treatment machine corresponds to the alignment of a driving line and the forward orientation of the treatment direction is oriented perpendicularly to the driving line.
Thus, the person who starts the automatic treatment mode can redefine the treatment direction with each treatment. This person can then, for example, due to the required cleaning times for the entire floor surface at different treatment directions determine a best treatment direction. It can be assumed that the best treatment direction runs parallel or perpendicular to a wall of the room with the floor surface to be cleaned. However, if large adjustable elements with differently directed outer edges are arranged in the interior of the room, then it may be that even a treatment direction adapted to these elements is optimal. The inventive solution has the advantage that the operator with his experience and a rough assessment of the boundary and the position of the adjustable elements on the floor surface can make an optimization of the routes by cleaning with different treatment directions.
The condition "completely treated" or "incompletely treated" to be assigned to a current endpoint is preferably determined on the basis of the distance from the current endpoint to the closest starting point on a driving line which lies in the current orientation of the treatment direction directly in front of the driving line with the current endpoint at a distance above a predetermined value, the state "incompletely treated" is selected. The predetermined value preferably corresponds at least to the extent of the soil treatment machine transversely to its direction of travel, so that "incompletely treated" is selected when the soil treatment machine between the current end point and the nearest starting point on a driving line in front of the driving line with the current Endpoint has enough space for a transit. This possible passage is not yet being sought because of the current orientation of the treatment direction. With the storage of the indication "incompletely treated" and the direction information, which shows in which direction, starting from the current endpoint, an incompletely treated area is present, the untreated area can be changed at a later time from this endpoint in the changed direction be approached.
A soil treatment machine or a method with the above-mentioned driving steps and stored information can be operated successfully when needed, ie in particular when storing starting points and end points and in the control of the position and orientation relative to driving lines, the position and orientation of the soil treatment machine can be determined.
According to the most general embodiment of the invention, a position and orientation detector provides the current position and orientation to interrogation. Any position and orientation detecting means known in the art may be used.
For example, total stations with automatic target detection and target tracking are known from surveying technology (for example, the commercially available product called the Leica iCON robot 50). If now such a total station is arranged stationarily in the area of the floor area to be treated, the floor treatment machine can, if necessary, obtain its position and orientation via a radio link from the total station. If, for example, the soil treatment machine comprises two prisms which can be tracked by the total station and are offset on their upper side, the position and orientation of the soil treatment machine can be determined from the positions of these two prisms.
From the robot control also laser tracker based position and alignment regulations are known (for example the 6DoF Leica Absolute Tracker AT901). A laser tracker can be integrated into the soil treatment machine and ensures position and orientation with high accuracy.
It goes without saying that stationary positioning devices for detecting the soil treatment machine as well as surveying systems arranged on the soil treatment machine and oriented on stationary elements can be used. Because the view of markings on the ceiling is usually possible from a large spatial area, surveying systems arranged on the floor treatment machine are suitable, which orient themselves or the coordinate system to markings on the ceiling.
In a preferred embodiment, stationary components of the position and orientation detection device are dispensed with. The result is a completely autonomous device that can be used on all possible floor surfaces, the floor surface must be assigned individual solid elements, such as the bottom surface bounding wall sections or arranged on the bottom surface elements, columns, inner wall sections or fixed shelves, which are used as positioning areas , In order to enable position and orientation determination, the controller of the soil treatment machine makes a detection mode feasible, in which from distance measurements of the scan sensor and driving information of the drive wheels, the detection of positioning areas in a ground coordinate system associated with the ground surface feasible.
Before a floor surface can be treated by the soil treatment machine, the soil treatment machine in detection mode must be run over different areas of the floor surface so that it can detect positioning areas. The detection mode makes it possible to detect line segments in the ground coordinate system for detecting the positioning regions, the determined line segments representing measured distance points on the positioning regions with parameters of curve equations as sections of continuous lines.
In the treatment mode, the soil treatment machine determines its position and orientation in the ground coordinate system from the detected positioning regions and the distance measurements of the scan sensor recorded for a current position. Optionally, driving information of the drive wheels are used to determine a current position and orientation of the soil treatment machine. Based on a precise position determination, which results from a good match of, for example, at least two positioning areas and the distance measurements recorded for a current position, a relatively accurate position and orientation can be determined with the tracking of the route, or with the driving information of the drive wheels, even on the onward journey, even if on the onward journey no positioning areas are visible.
In a preferred embodiment, the effective extent of the housing and / or the effective location of the treatment area relative to the wheels is taken into account, and in the light of the effective distance measurements to an obstacle as accurate as possible passing and guiding the treatment area at the obstacle achieved.

A preferred soil treatment device is designed as a cleaning device, preferably with at least one brush, a cleaning liquid supply and a suction arrangement but optionally with a dry vacuum, or a spray extraction device or a sweeper. The
So that obstacles or ground boundaries are detected, which do not extend over the height ranges with the scan sensor 8, other sensors for obstacle detection are preferably used. In order to easily access the interior of the cleaning machine for maintenance work, the
If the soil treatment machine is traveling in the treatment mode on a driving line, then this driving line and the driving lines arranged on both sides are ordered in the forward orientation of the treatment direction as the previous, current and next driving line. On the infrastructure, the soil treatment machine travels path segments on the driving lines from starting points to end points, the direction of travel of the adjoining path segments always being set in opposite directions on different driving lines. The end points are defined if driving on the respective driving line is not possible due to an obstacle. The starting points are defined as points on a driving line at which the soil treatment machine starts driving on a route segment on this driving line. By storing the coordinates of the start and end points, the treated area of the floor surface can be recorded.

The subsequent contour movement following the fourteenth end point only affects an already treated path segment. A not yet traveled section of a driving line can not be found. It can be seen that the first group of adjacent path sections is completed.
In order to ensure the complete treatment of a ground surface, only a few data, namely the start and end points of the traveled path segments and a treatment state with directional information have to be stored at the end points. In addition, apart from the few roughly searchable position search movements, no route has to be planned, which leads to a minimum of computation effort.
