Washstand (10) comprising an outer casing (11) with side walls (12, 22) and an upper side (12) with a basin hollow (13), said outer casing (11) surrounding an interior space (20), wherein one or more installed elements (21) are arranged in the interior space (20) and are configured to be accessible from outside, in that the outer casing (11) is made of steel, in particular enamelled steel, in that the outer casing (11) is constructed with all the side walls (12) and the basin hollow (13) in one piece and in that the outer casing (11) is constructed joint-free, characterised in that the installed elements (21) are withdrawable furniture elements (21) or drawers (23) which are provided with an outwardly closing panel (26), in that the panel (26) extends beyond, and in the closed state overlaps, the upper side of the washstand (10) and, with a labyrinth seal, prevents an ingress of splashed water.
2. Washstand (10) according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that further functional elements are provided in the interior space (20) in addition to the installed or furniture items (21).
3. Washstand (10) according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the installed or furniture elements (21) are positionable in their position with adjusting elements (30).
4. Washstand (10) according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the outer casing (11) is equipped with towel holders or is provided with a retrofitting facility for towel holders (16).
