Definitions
- the present invention relates to a system for generating, transmitting and exchanging georeferenced messages (GN).
- georeferencing is meant the assignment of spatial reference information to a data set;
- a georeferenced message is usually a text message which additionally contains a point or another reference to real-world coordinates and / or other real-world location information (e.g., latitude and longitude, altitude, possibly also direction of movement, speed, etc.).
- the text message refers to the assigned point or coordinates. This makes it possible to describe an event or a factual specification by means of a text and / or images in more detail and / or to assign an exact location to the text or content of the message by the coordinates of the georeference.
- GN [RELHP1] are of great, often crucial importance for the spatiotemporal recording and coordination of operations of fire brigades, technical or medical aid organizations, police, security personnel, etc., especially when it comes to spatially extended operations in which there is no visual contact .
- the hitherto commonly used communication via voice transmission is only able to transmit part of the information and is prone to error or even impossible in tense situations.
- location information depends on the knowledge of the transmitter; If, for example, firefighters from another municipality are mobilized in a major fire, one can not expect them to intervene Smoke, rubble and water also decipher house numbers or street signs, if they are still present and legible.
- the object of the invention is to provide a mobile system for generating, transmitting and exchanging GN [RELHP2] , which has a greater flexibility than the known systems, which offers a choice for the linkage the geodata with the message to be sent, which provides a choice for the reception of broadcasts and finally portable, that is, wearable by a person, and that hinders them as little as possible in their activity.
- a system according to the invention allows the transmission of GN in both directions, i. from a mobile or other device to a center and vice versa. Also, the direct communication between mobile devices is possible, as well as between a first center and a second, other center. In other words, the communication is independent of the device used, each participant can act both as a sender and as a receiver.
- the inventive system also allows the transmission of GN to one or more receivers.
- other existing communication means e.g. Radio devices, relieved because position-related information does not need to be transmitted via these channels.
- GN allow less room for interpretation than conventional news, coordinates are understood by all participants the same, especially if they are displayed automatically and directly on a map. There is no doubt that site descriptions can be misleading, usually requiring local knowledge and often making inquiries necessary.
- the invention consists of a novel, modular combination of several individual technologies, the z.T. available in the market.
- the invention will be described below first in its operation by way of example. Below is an example of the implementation
- FIG. 1 shows a typical image of a display according to the invention on a computer screen, here as a comparatively large display of a laptop.
- Fig. 2 is the same image, but with added position information according to the invention.
- the display arrangement in FIG. 1 is divided into two with a text field 1 in the lower area and a map area 2 in the upper area.
- this arrangement is not mandatory; it can also be reversed or one side staggered arrangement of the fields can be selected. Because of the usually scarce space conditions on the display of some mobile devices these 2 areas can be accommodated also on 2 different sides.
- the Fign. 3 and 4 show an example.
- Text field 1 contains a few lines in the usual order, as they are already used today; Here, in the example, an area for a message 3 of SMS or e-mail type, an address line for entering the receiver 4 and a line with some typical icons 5.
- a map section of the environment of the device location is displayed in the device; This can easily be done using a saved map, here the city of Zurich, and a GPS orientation system respectively.
- a saved map here the city of Zurich
- GPS orientation system are offered in a similar form as navigation systems for cars and other vehicles.
- the sending person eg a tram guide, hereinafter referred to as "sender" now has the option of selecting or changing the map section. In the example he (or she) will modify the map so that the scene of the accident is clearly visible on the map.
- the sender will first move the cursor to the "Create Georeference” icon (or button), then to the exact location of the accident, and then with a corresponding input command, e.g. Click to add the coordinates of this point, ie the accident site, to the message.
- a corresponding input command e.g. Click to add the coordinates of this point, ie the accident site, to the message.
- the dot is marked on the display, e.g. by means of a rectangle.
- the corresponding display image is shown.
- the tram station at the Central which is included in the maps, and the exact accident location marked with a rectangle 8.
- the position line is now provided with the exact position specification 9 as a point coordinate pair. This is preferably done automatically when the o.g. Input command.
- the card field contains other information, here e.g. Coordinate lines (kilometer lines) 10, shown.
- the attachment of the selected point coordinate pair to the text message can be done as an attachment, so it can be corrected or deleted, for example, or several point coordinate pairs can be added.
- a suitably equipped mobile phone mobile phone
- tablet PCs can be used advantageously if it has a sufficiently large screen.
- the solution to this problem consists of two or more sequentially invocable screens or screens, e.g. a (first) text screen containing only one or more text fields (for e.g., message and addresses), and an optionally invocable map screen containing only a map section.
- the screens contain corresponding command fields or buttons, usually called "buttons" in English.
- Fig. 3 shows such a first screen of a mobile device with the message to be transmitted and the addressee (Recipient), here the center. This corresponds in principle to the text field of Fig. 1. Furthermore, three command buttons are provided which can be made so large that even operation with a glove is possible, which is e.g. can play a role in the rescue sector. "Back” is for the return to the previous screen, "Attach” for the addition of the georeference (second screen, see Fig. 4) and "Send" for sending the GN.
- buttons "+” and “-” allow enlargement or reduction, ie zooming of the map.
- the relevant point here eg the accident location
- the relevant point is marked, which is indicated by a small circle.
- the key "OK” the coordinates become of this point and attached to the message to be sent.
- Fig. 5 again shows the first screen of the mobile device, now with a display (bottom right above the arrow symbol) that a georeference has been added and thus makes the message to a GN.
- the GN is sent to the addressee, here to the central office.
- Fig. 6 presents an overview of the possible routes of a GN from the sender via the message server to one or more receivers.
- the sender is shown as a laptop (see Figures 1 and 2).
- the use of one (or even several, spatially distributed) panels may prove advantageous in extended networks.
- the large map view may e.g. be displayed in a central office, which may prove particularly advantageous in the occurrence of multiple simultaneous focal points due to accidents or other disorders.
- Fig. 7 the first screen of a mobile device is shown, showing the transmission time, the sender, the addressee and the received text message, in turn, the mark that it is a GN.
- the messages for message and map are in turn divided into two screen pages, between which can be switched back and forth.
- FIG. 8 now shows the second screen page of a mobile device with the map detail, the georeference and the transmitted transmitted message.
- the card is not transferred, but is typically stored in the mobile device, which allows a much better use of the available transmission band. It is obvious that the superimposed, readable message practically precludes a misinterpretation about the location of the event. In this case, the readability can be improved or interpretation can be clarified with a corresponding color marking, e.g. red for accidents and blue for less critical situations, e.g. a clamping tramway.
- Fig. 9 shows a representation as shown for the received GN on a larger screen, e.g. a laptop or in the central office, is possible. Switching is then no longer necessary.
- the message can be entered directly in the map section. This would prove to be useful in large displays on a wall map in a central office, as such an automatic, always kept up to date map presentation greatly facilitates a generalstabsten planning of missions.
- Figure 10 provides an overview of the path of GN from the sender to the receivers.
- the sender captures the receiver (s), captures the message text, adds the georeference, and sends the GN so created to the message server , This receives the message and forwards it to the recipients so that they can retrieve them in a mailbox or in another way.
- the GN is then displayed device-dependent in the manner described above.
- Fig. 11 shows the procedure for creating a GN from the transmitter's point of view; slightly modified, as it allows the specification of several geo references.
- the user opens the screen for creating GNs as shown in Figs. 1 to 5 shown.
- the user specifies the receiver (s) 1 of the GN.
- it captures the text to be sent 2 (usually a description of the situation which defines the context of the attached point (or points)).
- the user adds a georeferenced point to the GN to mark the message as GN. This is done by selecting a point on the displayed map.
- the latter process can be repeated by the user several times to add various georeferenced points (similar to an attachment in an e-mail).
- the possibly encrypted transmission of the message to the message server is initiated.
- FIG. 12 shows the functions of the message server. This receives the GN from the sender and places it in the message output slot of the sender. Typically, the GNs on the server are kept persistent until the sender (or the center) explicitly deletes the message. As a next step, the message server goes through the recipient list defined in the GN and places each recipient with a copy of the message in its message inbox, i. the mailbox.
- the message can be delivered in two different ways: Either the recipient queries the message server at a certain time interval to retrieve newly arrived messages (analogous to e-mail), or the message server tries by itself to deliver the GN to the recipient ( analog SMS). Depending on the circumstances, one or the other method will be preferable.
- the receiver side is shown in FIG.
- the application receives the GN from the message server or asks for it in a fixed one Time interval from new GN. Once the GN is completely received, the user is informed of the reception and the GN can be displayed in a window.
- the message window of the received message represents the text of the GN and the various georeferenced points appended with a symbol. If it is a small screen size device, e.g. To a mobile device, the map is displayed in a separate screen which can be changed by pressing the icon (see Figures 7 and 8). Devices with a sufficiently large screen show the card in the same screen together with the text (split screen, see Fig. 9). The map is centered upon selecting a symbol for an appended point and the point is made visible on the map (e.g., rectangle in Figure 9).
- Example 1 Collision tram / passenger car at the Central in Zurich
- the tram driver referred to below and in the drawings Peter Muster, makes a message to the head office. He carries a mobile device with him, for example, a PDA, on which he enters the text message (Fig. 3) and then marked the exact location of the accident on the map (Fig. 4). The latter, as described above, is added to the message as the georeferenced point by pressing the "Attach” key and makes it a GN ( Figure 5). Click on the "Send” button the GN is sent to the message server and is now available to the central office.
- the panel sees the new message ( Figure 9) and the card is centered on the dot upon opening this message, typically with a click on the message analogous to a mail program, and the dot is marked with a marker, e.g. a rectangle.
- a marker e.g. a rectangle.
- the receiver in this case the tram control center "sees" the map section around the received coordinates together with the message in the text field.
- the size of the map section, the zoom factor, can be selected by the receiver.
- map section and / or the map material is not transmitted, but is directly to the receiver, i. from its own storage source, available.
- Non-existent maps can be obtained elsewhere if required, for example, supplied by a map server.
- VBZ Troubleshooter (VBZ stands for "Zurich Public Transport”), which will drive to the scene of the accident and initiate the repair of possible damage to ensure tram operation as soon as possible.
- the VBZ Troubleshooter reports to the head office, advantageously again with a GN, that the accident site has been cleared and the tracks on the Central can be re-run. Whereupon this informs by means of GN the lines 4 and 15 that the accident site at the Central is cleared and the trams can drive instead of the detour again the normal route.
- a helicopter of the Rega that is the Swiss air rescue service, and a police helicopter are on the way to make out the scene of the accident.
- the Rega helicopter finds the accident site and informs the center via GN about the exact coordinates and, via text or even photos, about the situation as it presents itself from the air.
- Rega rescuers, among them a doctor are dropped by the wind at the scene of the accident.
- the center asks the police helicopter to load additional required material and to fly to the exactly marked by a GN accident site. There should e.g. a clearing to simplify the recovery of the injured. Furthermore, the center is looking for the nearest road, possibly with heavy vehicles, and directs the rescuers who operate from the ground (and not from the air) to the right place by means of GN.
- the wind-swept Rega rescuers have now prepared injured for transport, which are now flown to the next road, where they can be received by the incoming rescue workers.
- Fig. 14 shows the structure of the application in the different levels.
- Level 1 involves capturing a GN on a client.
- the MessageStub will used to request the list of users on the appropriate component on the server, the MessageProvider. This is used to set the recipients of the message.
- the MessageStub provides a container for the message, that is, for the text and the embedded georeferenced points.
- the MapStub handles the map display and also provides the functionality to convert a point clicked on the map from screen coordinates to the corresponding real world coordinates (WGS84). The information can then be added by the MessageStub of the message, so that the coordinates of the points in the GN do not have to be entered manually.
- Level 2 is the service level. She is responsible for the administration of the different modules, here Map- and MessageStub. It also provides an abstraction to the communication layer so that it can be exchanged, depending on the underlying hardware. The finished GN is thus passed on to the service level for sending, which in turn forwards it to the communication level 3.
- the GN is encoded for shipping and encoded as needed using common encryption techniques (e.g., RSA).
- common encryption techniques e.g., RSA
- the communication layer 3 finally uses the client hardware 4 to send the GN over the Internet.
- the most suitable transmission technology is selected from a range of available technologies and used for transmission.
- Such a palette may include, for example, GRPS, UMTS, EDGE and WLAN, so that secure communication with a variety of different hardware is possible. This ensures that both mobile devices such as PDAs, smart phones, handhelds, tablet PCs and laptops, as well as normal PCs are available and available.
- the application is written in an operating system independent programming language so that different operating systems can be supported.
- Fig. 14 Shown in Fig. 14 is the transmission over the Internet.
- the server hardware 5 receives the data from the Internet and forwards it to the communication level 6 of the server. At this level, the received data may be decrypted and decoded, thus restoring the original message.
- the service level 7 in the server also acts as an interface between the various provider modules (here map and message providers) and the communication level 6.
- Level 8 MessageProvider handles the management of each message inbox and outbox, and puts the message in the message inbox and the recipients specified in the GN in the message inboxes. Thus, the GN is ready for reception.
- a MapProvider (map server) may be present in layer 8 of the server to provide a receiver, if needed, with the map material necessary to display the points embedded in the GN.
- the message can now be picked up by a recipient (e-mail procedure) or sent from the server to the recipient (SMS procedure).
- SMS procedure the message provider forwards the message via the service level 7, in turn, to the communication level 6, which now takes over the coding and encryption again.
- Level 1 MapStub centers the map view on the selected point in the message.
- the necessary map material does not exist in the client / receiver, it can be requested by the MapProvider via its own message.
Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a system for generating, transmitting and exchanging georeferenced messages (GN). By georeferencing is meant the assignment of spatial reference information to a data set; In the present case, a georeferenced message is usually a text message which additionally contains a point or another reference to real-world coordinates and / or other real-world location information (e.g., latitude and longitude, altitude, possibly also direction of movement, speed, etc.). The text message refers to the assigned point or coordinates. This makes it possible to describe an event or a factual specification by means of a text and / or images in more detail and / or to assign an exact location to the text or content of the message by the coordinates of the georeference.
Dazu kommt, dass Ortsangaben von der Kenntnis des Übermittlers abhängen; werden beispielsweise bei einem Grossbrand Feuerwehrleute aus einer anderen Gemeinde aufgeboten, kann man nicht erwarten, dass sie zwischen Rauch, Trümmern und Wasser auch noch Hausnummern oder Strassenschilder entziffern, sofern solche überhaupt noch vorhanden und lesbar sind.GN [RELHP1] are of great, often crucial importance for the spatiotemporal recording and coordination of operations of fire brigades, technical or medical aid organizations, police, security personnel, etc., especially when it comes to spatially extended operations in which there is no visual contact , The hitherto commonly used communication via voice transmission is only able to transmit part of the information and is prone to error or even impossible in tense situations. In addition, location information depends on the knowledge of the transmitter; If, for example, firefighters from another municipality are mobilized in a major fire, one can not expect them to intervene Smoke, rubble and water also decipher house numbers or street signs, if they are still present and legible.
Also in the monitoring and control of public transport, e.g. In a metropolitan transport network, accurate, possibly automatically generated location information is useful in communicating existing interference.
In aviation, automatic position information on air traffic control is standard today; the position of a commercial aircraft is monitored and displayed by radar, the aircraft transmits by means of a transponder continuously number plate and height in the air traffic control unit, so that the controller has an accurate knowledge of the position and altitude of monitored by him aircraft. Usually also a collision warning system is integrated. Further information and instructions are provided by radio. However, such a system is unsuitable for portable operation.
Based on the cited prior art, the object of the invention is to provide a mobile system for generating, transmitting and exchanging GN [RELHP2] , which has a greater flexibility than the known systems, which offers a choice for the linkage the geodata with the message to be sent, which provides a choice for the reception of broadcasts and finally portable, that is, wearable by a person, and that hinders them as little as possible in their activity.
A system according to the invention allows the transmission of GN in both directions, i. from a mobile or other device to a center and vice versa. Also, the direct communication between mobile devices is possible, as well as between a first center and a second, other center. In other words, the communication is independent of the device used, each participant can act both as a sender and as a receiver.
The inventive system also allows the transmission of GN to one or more receivers. Thus, other existing communication means, e.g. Radio devices, relieved because position-related information does not need to be transmitted via these channels. Above all, GN allow less room for interpretation than conventional news, coordinates are understood by all participants the same, especially if they are displayed automatically and directly on a map. There is no doubt that site descriptions can be misleading, usually requiring local knowledge and often making inquiries necessary.
Fig. 1 zeigt ein typisches Bild eines gemäss der Erfindung ausgestalteten Displays auf einem Computerbildschirm, hier als vergleichsweise grosses Display eines Laptops.1 shows a typical image of a display according to the invention on a computer screen, here as a comparatively large display of a laptop.
Fig. 2 is the same image, but with added position information according to the invention.
The display arrangement in FIG. 1 is divided into two with a
New - and not available in known devices - are in the icon line the
In the example, which is described in more detail below, contains the message text "collision of a passenger car with the 4 Series Tram on Central" already an indication of the scene of the accident, but only in rough form. The "Central" in Zurich is a - as the name suggests - centrally located place with very high traffic of trams (trams), cars and pedestrians, the traffic is so unfavorable shaped that in rush hours usually a manual traffic control by several police officers he follows. In order to maintain the intersecting tram traffic of 5 or 6 tram lines in case of an accident as here in the example, i. to use substitute vehicles from the tram control center and to arrange diversions, the indication "am Central" with the line number is by no means sufficient.
This is where the invention begins. Basically, a map section of the environment of the device location is displayed in the device; This can easily be done using a saved map, here the city of Zurich, and a GPS orientation system respectively. Such orientation systems are offered in a similar form as navigation systems for cars and other vehicles. The sending person (eg a tram guide, hereinafter referred to as "sender") now has the option of selecting or changing the map section. In the example he (or she) will modify the map so that the scene of the accident is clearly visible on the map.
Then the sender will first move the cursor to the "Create Georeference" icon (or button), then to the exact location of the accident, and then with a corresponding input command, e.g. Click to add the coordinates of this point, ie the accident site, to the message. At the same time, the dot is marked on the display, e.g. by means of a rectangle.
Koordinatenlinien (Kilometerlinien) 10, dargestellt.2, the corresponding display image is shown. In the map field, the tram station at the Central, which is included in the maps, and the exact accident location marked with a
The attachment of the selected point coordinate pair to the text message can be done as an attachment, so it can be corrected or deleted, for example, or several point coordinate pairs can be added.
In many cases, a so-called "handheld" or "palmtop", ie a hand-held, manually or voice-operated handheld computer, as used today as a mobile device in many industries and in a variety of embodiments, meets the needs better than one comparatively big laptop. A suitably equipped mobile phone (mobile phone) can be used advantageously if it has a sufficiently large screen. Furthermore, so-called tablet PCs can be used.
Of course, such pocket computers or mobile phones (hereinafter referred to as mobile devices) have substantially smaller display areas, so that a division into text field and map field is hardly feasible in a reasonable size. The solution to this problem then consists of two or more sequentially invocable screens or screens, e.g. a (first) text screen containing only one or more text fields (for e.g., message and addresses), and an optionally invocable map screen containing only a map section. For this purpose, the screens contain corresponding command fields or buttons, usually called "buttons" in English.
"Back" ist für die Rückschaltung zum vorherigen Bildschirm, "Attach" für die Beifügung der Georeferenz (zweiter Bildschirm, siehe Fig. 4) und "Send" für das Absenden der GN.Fig. "Back" is for the return to the previous screen, "Attach" for the addition of the georeference (second screen, see Fig. 4) and "Send" for sending the GN.
Mit der Taste "OK" werden die Koordinaten dieses Punktes bestimmt und der zu übermittelnden Nachricht beigefügt.4 shows the second screen of the mobile device with the map section of the location. The buttons "+" and "-" allow enlargement or reduction, ie zooming of the map. By means of a pen or simply with the finger the relevant point, here eg the accident location, is marked, which is indicated by a small circle. With the key "OK" the coordinates become of this point and attached to the message to be sent.
Fig. 5 again shows the first screen of the mobile device, now with a display (bottom right above the arrow symbol) that a georeference has been added and thus makes the message to a GN. By pressing the "Send" button of this screen, the GN is sent to the addressee, here to the central office.
Fig. 6 presents an overview of the possible routes of a GN from the sender via the message server to one or more receivers. Here again, the sender is shown as a laptop (see Figures 1 and 2). The use of one (or even several, spatially distributed) panels may prove advantageous in extended networks. The large map view may e.g. be displayed in a central office, which may prove particularly advantageous in the occurrence of multiple simultaneous focal points due to accidents or other disorders.
While the Fign. 1 to 5 refer to the transmission side, in Figs. 7 to 9 the receiver side shown, so the views that offer the receiver of a GN.
Thus, in Fig. 7, the first screen of a mobile device is shown, showing the transmission time, the sender, the addressee and the received text message, in turn, the mark that it is a GN.
Since, as mentioned above, the display area of a mobile device is limited, the messages for message and map are in turn divided into two screen pages, between which can be switched back and forth.
The card is not transferred, but is typically stored in the mobile device, which allows a much better use of the available transmission band. It is obvious that the superimposed, readable message practically precludes a misinterpretation about the location of the event. In this case, the readability can be improved or interpretation can be clarified with a corresponding color marking, e.g. red for accidents and blue for less critical situations, e.g. a clamping tramway.
Fig. 9 shows a representation as shown for the received GN on a larger screen, e.g. a laptop or in the central office, is possible. Switching is then no longer necessary. Of course, here too, which is not shown, the message can be entered directly in the map section. This would prove to be useful in large displays on a wall map in a central office, as such an automatic, always kept up to date map presentation greatly facilitates a generalstabsten planning of missions.
Figure 10 provides an overview of the path of GN from the sender to the receivers. As discussed above, the sender captures the receiver (s), captures the message text, adds the georeference, and sends the GN so created to the message server , This receives the message and forwards it to the recipients so that they can retrieve them in a mailbox or in another way. At the receiver, the GN is then displayed device-dependent in the manner described above.
Fig. 11 shows the procedure for creating a GN from the transmitter's point of view; slightly modified, as it allows the specification of several geo references. To write a GN, the user opens the screen for creating GNs as shown in Figs. 1 to 5 shown. The user specifies the receiver (s) 1 of the GN. Next, it captures the text to be sent 2 (usually a description of the situation which defines the context of the attached point (or points)). Further, the user adds a georeferenced point to the GN to mark the message as GN. This is done by selecting a point on the displayed map. The latter process can be repeated by the user several times to add various georeferenced points (similar to an attachment in an e-mail). By means of a click on the Send key, the possibly encrypted transmission of the message to the message server is initiated.
The message can be delivered in two different ways: Either the recipient queries the message server at a certain time interval to retrieve newly arrived messages (analogous to e-mail), or the message server tries by itself to deliver the GN to the recipient ( analog SMS). Depending on the circumstances, one or the other method will be preferable.
The receiver side is shown in FIG. As mentioned above, the application receives the GN from the message server or asks for it in a fixed one Time interval from new GN. Once the GN is completely received, the user is informed of the reception and the GN can be displayed in a window.
Rechteck in Fig. 9).The message window of the received message represents the text of the GN and the various georeferenced points appended with a symbol.
In the following, the most important functional sequences will be briefly described again. Their implementation, as far as it does not result for the specialist by itself, is further explained below.
- (1) The user / sender captures the text, that is, the (text) message. Then mark on his device the reference point, which is to be added to the message and to which the text refers, by means of mouse pointer and click directly in the map. He also indicates the recipient (s). Of course all this can be done in a different order.
- (2) The software in the device of the transmitter converts the "screen coordinates" defined by the entered reference point into real world coordinates (eg WGS84).
- (3) The georeferenced datum is stored in a dedicated field, thus creating the resulting GN. This will now be encoded for the program.
- (4) GN is sent to the message server where it is placed in its "mailbox" to all recipients specified in the GN, ie each designated recipient now has the GN available and can receive it on his device.
- (5) The GN is marked as such (eg with a symbol) for the attached georeferenced information. The recipient can click on the icon to center the map on the point or switch to other map views. The point contained in the GN is displayed on the map eg marked with a rectangle.
In the following two examples, these functions will now be described in more detail to show the advantages of the invention, in particular of the inventive method.
This case has already been addressed above in. The starting point is a collision of a passenger car with the 4 Series Tram at the Central. The tram driver, referred to below and in the drawings Peter Muster, makes a message to the head office. He carries a mobile device with him, for example, a PDA, on which he enters the text message (Fig. 3) and then marked the exact location of the accident on the map (Fig. 4). The latter, as described above, is added to the message as the georeferenced point by pressing the "Attach" key and makes it a GN (Figure 5). Click on the "Send" button the GN is sent to the message server and is now available to the central office.
The panel sees the new message (Figure 9) and the card is centered on the dot upon opening this message, typically with a click on the message analogous to a mail program, and the dot is marked with a marker, e.g. a rectangle. As a result, the center knows the exact location of the accident and knows that only the
The receiver, in this case the tram control center "sees" the map section around the received coordinates together with the message in the text field. The size of the map section, the zoom factor, can be selected by the receiver.
Usually the map section and / or the map material is not transmitted, but is directly to the receiver, i. from its own storage source, available. Non-existent maps can be obtained elsewhere if required, for example, supplied by a map server.
Next, the headquarters will use GN to provide a service vehicle, the "VBZ Troubleshooter" (VBZ stands for "Zurich Public Transport"), which will drive to the scene of the accident and initiate the repair of possible damage to ensure tram operation as soon as possible.
At the same time, the chauffeurs of
The VBZ Troubleshooter reports to the head office, advantageously again with a GN, that the accident site has been cleared and the tracks on the Central can be re-run. Whereupon this informs by means of GN the
The ability to directly connect geographic display and text messaging allows for quick and unambiguous resolution of critical situations with a minimum of possible errors. In particular, faulty localization, which leads to massive, barely repairable delays in a traffic operation, can therefore be virtually ruled out. If, for example, text messages are automatically displayed in the center on a large screen at the point of the map to which the text messages relate, a misinterpretation can be excluded with great probability.
Starting point is the crash of an aircraft in rough terrain, e.g. in a wooded area on a hill. The exact crash site is not known and roads, which could possibly be used as access roads by rescue workers, there are only a few. Which of these is the right one can not be determined because the crash site is unknown.
A helicopter of the Rega, that is the Swiss air rescue service, and a police helicopter are on the way to make out the scene of the accident. The Rega helicopter finds the accident site and informs the center via GN about the exact coordinates and, via text or even photos, about the situation as it presents itself from the air. At the same time, Rega rescuers, among them a doctor, are dropped by the wind at the scene of the accident.
The center asks the police helicopter to load additional required material and to fly to the exactly marked by a GN accident site. There should e.g. a clearing to simplify the recovery of the injured. Furthermore, the center is looking for the nearest road, possibly with heavy vehicles, and directs the rescuers who operate from the ground (and not from the air) to the right place by means of GN.
The wind-swept Rega rescuers have now prepared injured for transport, which are now flown to the next road, where they can be received by the incoming rescue workers.
Again, it is again obvious that the immediate connection of geographical display and text message allows a quick and clear location of an accident site with a minimum of error possibilities. That this can save lives is obvious. But the use of rescue services and rescue equipment, be it flying or mobile, can be optimized with it. In the case of a major accident, e.g. the crash of a commercial aircraft, this may prove to be a decisive improvement of rescue operations, since a coordination is possible in a previously unknown manner.
The following application description is written in the usual terminology for software descriptions. The terms used therefore need no further explanation.
Fig. 14 shows the structure of the application in the different levels.
At
The
Shown in Fig. 14 is the transmission over the Internet.
On the server side, the
The message can now be picked up by a recipient (e-mail procedure) or sent from the server to the recipient (SMS procedure). For this purpose, the message provider forwards the message via the
On the client side, ie at the receiver, the transmitted data are decrypted again and put together to form a message object. At
If the necessary map material does not exist in the client / receiver, it can be requested by the MapProvider via its own message.
There are apparently a variety of other modifications that can be determined and implemented by those skilled in the art without inventive step; The following claims are also intended to cover these non-inventive modifications.
