Description

The invention relates to a method for controlling a device for storing and dispensing banknotes with a plurality of each receiving a banknote chambers and an electronic control system, wherein banknotes of particular significance, which are provided for an output, stored in the chambers and output therefrom and banknotes of other valence are stored in a cash register.

Die Banknote wird in die Kammer hinein oder aus dieser herausbewegt und die benachbarten Platten verfahren wieder in ihre Ausgangsstellung im Banknotenspeicher.DE 100 33 374 A1 discloses a device for storing and dispensing banknotes, in particular for coin-operated entertainment devices, which comprises a banknote input and output, a conveying path with a transport device and a banknote storage device which can be moved transversely to the conveying path. The banknote storage device consists of a multiplicity of chambers accommodating one banknote each, which are formed by tension-loaded adjacent plates, to which at least one plate-spreading device is assigned. For receiving or dispensing a banknote by means of the plate spreader, two plates are movable away from each other. The banknote is moved into or out of the chamber and the adjacent plates move back into their original position in the banknote storage.

Furthermore, DE 100 51 224 A1 shows an apparatus for storing and dispensing banknotes, which comprises a banknote checking device for banknotes entered and to be dispensed, a banknotes input and output, a conveying path with a transporting device and a banknote store movable transversely to a conveying path opening. The banknote storage consists of a plurality of each receiving a banknote, closed on one side chambers. These are formed by dividing walls which are mechanically adjustable linearly to the conveying path opening. For receiving or dispensing a banknote one of these associated partition is movable out of the banknote memory, the banknote from or to the transport device can be transferred and the partition again moved to its original position in the banknote memory.

The banknote storage devices described above are frequently used in vending machines and money-operated entertainment devices and are coupled with banknote validators. In addition, coin validators and coin storage devices are installed in these devices to give users ggfls. to repay any surplus funds or to pay out profits. Due to the limited space available in these devices, the banknote storage devices have a relatively small number of chambers for receiving banknotes. A vending machine manufacturer or manufacturer defines the valences of the banknotes to be stored in the banknote storage, which are used for Payout are determined and populates the empty banknote memory with appropriate banknotes to ensure a payout of the same. During operation of the device, empty chambers of the banknote storage are filled up with banknotes entered by users whose valency corresponds to the valency stored in an electronic control unit. Since usually only two weights of banknotes are provided for storage in the banknote memory, there is a problem with regard to the capacity of the banknote memory and thus with regard to the payout capability of the device. Preferably, banknotes of low value are provided for direct payout and thus for storage in the banknote store, and banknotes of high value are transported directly into the cash register. If the banknote store is set in such a way that, for example, banknotes with the values 5, - EUR and 10, - EUR are stored in the chambers, then the device is only partially disbursable, if frequently banknotes of great value, namely for example 20, - or 50, - EUR banknotes, to be used for payment on the device. If the banknote store is set up to store high-value banknotes, for example 20, and 50, EUR banknotes, the problem arises that payment of banknotes only takes place at relatively high repayment amounts and smaller amounts are repaid in coins become. However, this repayment or payout behavior is not accepted by the users of the devices who want to receive the smallest possible amount of coins when repaying.

It is an object of the invention to provide a method of the type mentioned, which ensures flexible allocation of the chambers of the banknote storage with banknotes of different weights.

According to the invention, the object is achieved in that, depending on a minimum value stored in the control electronics and a maximum value for the number of banknotes of particular significance, the banknotes are either stored in the chambers for output or directed into the cash register.

Due to these measures, it is possible to store banknotes weighted by their value in the banknote store for payout, whereby a plurality of weights can be provided, which are determined after usual deposits or withdrawals, in order both to refill the banknote store by entering banknotes also to ensure its payout ability. Since banknotes of low value often come to payoff, for example, the banknote with the value 5 EUR is assigned a relatively high minimum value and also a high maximum value, while a banknote with a high value of 50 EUR, for example, which is neither frequent is deposited yet paid, both a small minimum value and small maximum value is assigned, so that a banknote of this value is usually directed to the cashier. This results in a further advantage of the invention, namely the influence of the contents of the cash register on the definition of the minimum and maximum values of the banknotes of the valencies, which are paid out. One Operator of the banknote memory controls with the inventive method, the content of the banknote validator downstream cashier, where it is possible to him preferably to promote banknotes with a high value in the checkout and provide banknotes with a low value for payment.

In order to ensure filling of the banknote memory by means of banknotes entered, the sum of all maximum values is preferably greater than the number of chambers. Conveniently, the sum of all minimum values is less than or equal to the number of chambers.

To achieve a relatively fast and easy storage or dispensing of banknotes of particular significance, the banknotes are preferably directed into any chamber of the apparatus, the control electronics both detecting free chambers and storing the valency of the bins occupying the chambers together with associated characteristics of the chamber , Thus, it is not necessary to occupy the device, so the banknote memory, in an incoming bill in such a way that the bill passes into a specific chamber for storage. Rather, the bill is promoted to the next available chamber. Likewise, when a banknote of particular significance is paid out, the banknote store is brought into the position in which the nearest chamber with the banknote of corresponding significance is located.

According to an advantageous development of the inventive idea is in the control electronics, a target value for Number of banknotes of particular significance stored, with notes of the lowest significance, the number of which is greater than the target value, are issued with priority from the chambers. By means of the target value is carried out a regulation of the occupancy of the chambers of the banknote memory and a control of the banknote output.

It is expedient for banknotes of a specific valency to be output during an output process until it reaches its minimum value. This ensures that in a subsequent issue process banknotes of this value up to their minimum value for disbursement are available. Preferably, after reaching the minimum value of banknotes of particular significance during a dispensing operation, banknotes of the next highest significance are issued.

For continuous flexible adaptation of the memory behavior of the banknote memory, in an embodiment of the invention, the maximum value and / or the minimum value are adapted by the control electronics as a function of the valencies of the banknotes passing through a bill validator upstream of the device. For example, if the banknote store is housed in a device where high value banknotes are frequently deposited and relatively large amounts are paid out, higher minimum or maximum banknotes are stored for medium value banknotes, while for frequent banknotes of low value banknotes the minimum - and maximum values for banknotes of medium or higher value reduced and which are increased for banknotes of low value.

Advantageously, by applying a switch coupled to the control electronics, the minimum value and the maximum value of a banknote of particular significance are set to zero. Accordingly, the banknote of this value does not reach the banknote store but is deposited directly in the cash register. Thus, the operator of the banknote storage has the easy way to determine which weights of banknotes on the banknote storage come to pay and which valences are promoted directly into the box office.

It goes without saying that the features mentioned above and those yet to be explained below can be used not only in the respectively specified combination but also in other combinations. The scope of the present invention is defined only by the claims.

In a control electronics of a bank note storage are for banknotes of certain weights, namely 5, - EUR, 10, - EUR, 20, - EUR and 50, - EUR, respectively defined a minimum value, a maximum value and a target value, the sum the maximum value is greater than the number of banknote receiving chambers of the banknote memory. When entering a banknote of particular significance, the control electronics checks the occupancy of the chambers of the banknote memory with regard to the valency of the banknotes received therein and whether a number of banknotes of this significance corresponding to the minimum value is present in the banknote store. If this is not the case, the deposit of the banknote entered takes place in a free chamber of the banknote store and is thus intended for payment. When the minimum value of the banknotes of this denomination has been reached, it is determined whether a compartment of the banknote store is free to receive the entered banknote. If there is no free chamber, the bill is conveyed to a cash register. Should there still be free chambers, but they are needed to hold banknotes of a different value in order to reach their minimum values, The entered banknote is also promoted to the cashier. The transport to the cash register also takes place after a number of banknotes of this value corresponding to a maximum value is present in the banknote store. If the maximum value has not yet been reached, the deposit of the entered banknote takes place in a free chamber of the banknote store.

In the present case, when entering a banknote with the value of EUR 5.00 and an available free chamber of the banknote store, it is checked whether there are already twelve banknotes of this value within the banknote store. If this is the case, the entered 5, - EUR banknote is transported to the cash register, otherwise the 5, - EUR banknote is deposited in the free chamber.

When issuing banknotes from the banknote store, banknotes of the lowest value are always first output in the banknote store, and then the banknotes having the next highest priority are taken into account.

In the following explanation of the issue of banknotes from the banknote storage, an issue amount of EUR 40, - accepted. The control electronics now first checks the occupancy of the chamber with banknotes of the lowest value, that is the value of 5, - EUR, for which a target value of five pieces is stored. If there are six banknotes at 5, - EUR within the chambers, their payment is made until the minimum value is reached, namely four pieces, so that two banknotes a 5, - EUR are paid. Accordingly, there are four banknotes with a value of 5, - EUR in the banknote storage and the deposited minimum value is reached. For payment of the balance of EUR 30, - checks the control electronics, the occupancy of the chambers with banknotes of the next higher value, so 10, - EUR banknotes. If there are six banknotes a 10, - EUR in the banknote storage and the corresponding target value is defined with five pieces, then the payment of a banknote of this priority takes place. The balance of 20, - EUR is either paid with a banknote with the value of 20, - EUR or there is the issue of a banknote with the value 10, - EUR, for which then the minimum value of three pieces is reached and the issue of two banknotes with the value 5, - EUR, the minimum value is fallen below. Falling below the minimum value takes place only in those cases in which it is absolutely necessary to issue a certain amount, since the minimum value is otherwise to ensure a certain supply of banknotes of certain significance for further payment transactions.

Minimum, maximum and target values are not fixed values but may be changed by the control electronics depending on the number of entered and / or dispensed banknotes of particular significance to ensure both the dispensability of the banknote storage and the preferred conveyance of high quality banknotes to ensure the cash register.
