Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for producing pull-through seals according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Pull-through seals made of plastic are conventionally produced by injection molding.
- molds usually metal molds, are produced, into which the plastic in liquid form is then injected under high pressure and the pull-through seal is produced in one piece in one work step.
- Such a pull-through seal has a base body with a closure body attached to it and a protruding or protruding seal from the base body.
- tongue leading away the tip of which can be pushed through the closure body during use.
- the tongue generally has retention means in the form of knobs or teeth, which allow the tongue to be passed through the closure body in a single direction. In the opposite direction, however, retraction of the tongue is impossible due to blocking means arranged in the closure body, which act on the retention means of the tongue.
- Such pull-through seals are thus so-called one-way means, i.e. they can usually only be used once and the closure can only be released by destruction.
- the size of the tongue and the type of closure body are selected.
- GUNGS 0PIE speaking form must be carried out relatively large, which on the one hand leads to high costs and on the other hand can lead to problems regarding the complete and homogeneous filling of the form, which in turn require complex manufacturing processes, which also lead to an increase in the cost of manufacture and thus of the product.
- the object of the present invention was to find a method for producing pull-through seals made of plastic, which allows practically any dimensions of tongues to be produced without additional effort.
- the tongue of the pull-through seal in the extrusion process, practically any dimensions, in particular in length, can advantageously be achieved. Furthermore, with regard to the strength after profiling and lengthening the tongue body, higher strength values are achieved than with sealing tongues conventionally produced by spraying. Instead of producing many different molds for each required dimension, with a single extrusion tool and the use of a standardized basic body, practically all requirements for the pull-through seals can be covered with less effort compared to the conventional method. Another advantage is the possibility of using polyethylene as a plastic for the production of the pull-through seal, since the stretching process increases the strength by aligning the plastic molecules and practically the same values as with conventional pull-through seals made of polyamide are achieved at a much lower cost.
- FIG. 1 schematically shows the process of the manufacturing method according to the invention for a pull-through seal
- Figure 3 shows the cross section of the profile strand of the tongue after profiling by means of a profile wheel.
- Figure 4 shows the cross section of the profile strand of the tongue after the stretching process.
- FIG. 5 shows the top view of a pull-through seal produced according to the invention.
- FIG. 1 schematically shows the manufacturing process according to the invention for a pull-through seal 1 made of plastic.
- the tongue of the pull-through seal is produced by preferably extruding a trapezoidal profile 2, which immediately afterwards the extrusion is profiled.
- the cross section of the profile strand 2 is shown in FIG. 2.
- the profiling is preferably carried out via a profiled wheel 3, which is preferably pressed onto the short upper side of the extruded profile strand 2 in a rolling manner. This creates a rack-shaped profile strand 4, as shown in FIG. 3.
- the profile elevations 4 ' are preferably at a regular distance A.
- This profile strand 4 is then fed to a stretching process 5, which preferably doubles the length of the profile strand 4.
- This can in turn advantageously take place continuously, or alternatively can be used individually for the profile pieces which have already been cut to the required dimension.
- the stretching process 5 on the profiled profile strand 4 leads on the one hand to an alignment of the plastic molecules, which increases the strength.
- This advantageously allows polyethylene to be used as a plastic, which is less expensive than the polyamide conventionally used in the pressure spraying process, but which achieves practically the same strength values as the polyamide due to the stretching.
- This is preferably done by stretching the profile at a temperature of 60 ° C reached. Another of this method is that the material breaks practically without stretching when the tensile load is reached, which practically makes invisible manipulation of the pull-through seal impossible.
- the tapering particularly extends the tapered sections 4 ′′ of the profiled profile strand 4 and thus creates an end profile shape 6, which ideally match the resilient retaining means of the closure body of the pull-through seal.
- FIG. 4 shows the view of a section of such an end profile shape 6, in which the profile elevations 6 'are now preferably twice the distance 2A or more in comparison with the profiled profile strand 4. This enables pulling in one direction through the closure body, while pulling back in the opposite direction is made impossible by engagement of the retaining means against the profile edges of the tongue, as is known for pulling seals.
- the subsequently profiled tongues 7, which are then cut to the required length, are then sprayed onto the base body 8 of the pull-through seal 1 at the appropriate location.
- this method enables the use of different colored material for the base body 8 and the tongue 7, which gives additional design freedom in the production of pull-through seals 1.
- the base body 8 can be produced in a conventional manner, for example by pressure spraying, and in this case either already be provided in one piece with a closure body 9, or this is also sprayed separately onto the base body in an additional process step analogous to the tongue 7.
- closure body 9 can consist, for example, of several parts and in particular not only of one material but of a composition of different materials.
- a closure body 9 with a metal insert can be used, which has increased pulling strength and security against manipulation.
- FIG. 5 shows a pull-through seal 1 produced in this way.
- a pull-through seal 1 produced in this way has a very high security against manipulation, since after manipulation, such as cutting open the tongue 7, this manipulation does not simply reverse or can be made invisible. If polyethylene is preferably used, an interface cannot simply be reconnected by invisible gluing. When heat is used, the material simply melts and cannot simply be welded as a stable connection.
- the production process presented can thus be used universally for the production of pull-through seals 1 with different tongue lengths and possibly different closure bodies 9 and requires only a minimal number of tools. It is particularly advantageous that a separate, special injection mold does not have to be produced for each different length of tongue required and the method is therefore suitable for the economical and economical production of small quantities in special sizes or designs. In addition, it is also possible to use a less expensive plastic, such as polyethylene, with undiminished strength values of the pull-through seal 1, than is necessary in the conventional manufacture by spraying using polyamide.
