Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a plastic pane of motor vehicle headlights or automotive lights.
The manufacture of automotive headlights and automotive lights The basis of thermoplastic raw materials has been known for a long time. For plastic panes of motor vehicle headlights or motor vehicle lights, in particular End glasses, plastic panes are increasingly used made of polycarbonate. In the recent past have been in use here of the vehicles on the inside of the plastic windows, that is, on spots on the surface facing the illuminant been. This is essentially dust deposits inside of the incompletely closed system a disturbing impairment cause.
The object of the present invention is to stain the especially in the case of profile-free, clear lenses of motor vehicle headlights noticeably bothers to avoid. Although there are manufacturers who have Manufacture raw materials for the manufacture of plastic discs, efforts, plastics to develop the staining caused by appropriate material components avoid, but these are combinations of materials, such as are described in DE 197 13 508 A1, not completely satisfactory.
The above object is achieved in a first embodiment by a Plastic pane of motor vehicle headlights or motor vehicle lights, which is characterized in that the disc on the facing the lamp Surface of a transparent coating to avoid staining due to inhomogeneous dust deposits.
With the help of the present invention, it becomes an invisible, completely transparent Coating for the inner surface of plastic windows of motor vehicle headlights and automotive lights provided in the installed condition are no longer accessible for cleaning and due to the electrostatic charge tend to speck dust particles present and thereby attractively decoratively attach.
For transparent thermoplastics there are internal antistatic agents that are added to the raw material are not available without impairing the material properties. Externally applied antistatic agents are only temporarily effective and of that in the device existing humidity dependent.
In the ventilated system, a motor vehicle headlight or a motor vehicle lamp the spots are particularly different Evaporation of the additives caused by the thermoplastic materials. Operational temperatures in the plastic pane can range from 120 to 125 ° C occur. In places that are particularly hot, there is therefore greater evaporation of additives instead of than in colder zones. If necessary, store here Traces of additives, so that the inner surface is no longer overall has the same static properties. This leads to a different one Dust accumulation.
With the help of the present invention, it was found that this dust deposition can be prevented in particular if the coating consists of SiO · SiO 2 (Si 2 O 3 ). This material, whose basic application is known for the production of an anti-reflective coating on lenses, is used according to the invention for the first time in the automotive industry. Surprisingly, it was found that very thin layers in the range from, for example, 5 to 100 nm, in particular 25 to 50 nm, are suitable for largely avoiding the formation of stains.
The coating is applied as described in the prior art Methods such as those disclosed in DE 41 28 547 A1, to which full reference is made.
A particular embodiment of the present invention therefore consists in coating by PVD, CVD or PECVD, especially by evaporation of SiO.
The plastic disc was placed in the vacuum chamber / coating system immediately after the injection molding. The outside of the pane and the pane edge area (pane foot) used in the further assembly process for sealing / gluing was previously covered with a template. After the vacuum of 3 - 7 x 10 -4 mbar was reached, SiO was evaporated. This resulted in an Si 2 O 3 layer on the inner surface of the pane. The process times were 15 to 30 minutes. Following this process, the inside of the pane had an invisible, completely transparent layer. This layer acted as a barrier layer for the additives which normally diffuse out of the plastic, for example the polycarbonate. Furthermore, this layer was electrostatically neutral, so that there was no longer the charge typical of polycarbonate, for example. Both in laboratory tests and in driving tests with real motor vehicle headlights, it was demonstrated that there was no more stain or lichen-like dust accumulation on this layer.
Like exemplary embodiment 1, but the plastic pane was coated on the outside with a hard coat layer before coating with Si 2 O 3 . The advantage of this procedure was that the outer pane of the pane no longer had to be covered in the vacuum process.
