Description

  • The invention relates to an information slide or disc provided with a pop-up, formed by two cover sheets in between which an inner sheet can be slided or rotated.
  • Known is an information slide, in which in a front cover sheet a part is provided which can be partly folded up with respect to the front cover sheet, which foldable part is connected at one end to the inner sheet, in such a way, that when the inner sheet is slided in the slide, the foldable part is folded and stands up with respect to the slide, while from the material of the foldable part a pop-up figure is cut out, which points upwards in the folded together position.
  • The known slide card has the drawback, that the dimensions and the form of the pop-up figure are dependant on the dimensions and the form of the foldable part out of which the pop-up figure is formed. With the known slide card, the foldable part is square, and it is not possible to provide this part with the form of the silhouette of the displayed figure, without diminishing the firmness of the foldable part, while further this figure always has to have smaller dimensions than the folding part.
  • The invention aims to provide an improved information slide or disc.
  • The information slide or disc according to the invention to that end is characterized in that in a cover sheet an opening is provided, while a pop-up portion is connected to the cover sheet, which pop-up portion at its joint to the cover sheet can be moved from a first position, in which the pop-up portion lies substantially in one plane with the plane of the cover sheet, upwards to a second position, in which the pop-up portion stands in an angle with respect to the plane of the cover sheet, and wherein the pop-up portion is connected through the opening in the cover sheet to a lift-up portion which is provided on the inner sheet, which lift-up portion can be moved from a first position, in which the lift-up portion lies substantially in one plane with the plane of the inner sheet, upwards to a second position, in which the lift-up portion is disposed in an angle with respect to the plane of the inner sheet and can point through the opening in the cover sheet, in such a way, that when the inner sheet is slided or rotated the lift-up portion moves the pop-up portion upwards and downwards.
  • With the slide or disc according to the invention it is possible to provide the part which stands up with respect to the plane of the slide or disc, the pop-up portion, in whole with the form of the silhouette of the figure that one wishes to depict. It is further possible to provide the pop-up portion with a larger dimension than the dimensions of the lift-up portion, so that only the pop-up portion is visible.
  • According to a further characteristic of the information slide or disc according to the invention, in a cover sheet more than one pop-up portion can be provided, while further more openings and lift-up portions can be provided.
  • In that way it is possible to incorporate in one information slide or disc a plurality of pop-up portions, each of which can be operated seperately.
  • According to another characteristic of the information slide or disc according to the invention, the pop-up portion is made from the material of the cover sheet, while the joint or connection between the pop-up portion and the cover sheet is formed by a fold line.
  • The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing an information slide or disc, characterized in that a piece of planar material is divided along two fold lines in at least one set of three sections, in which the first and the second section are destined to form the front cover sheet and the back cover sheet respectively of a cover, and wherein in the first section a pop-up portion is partially cut loose, which pop-up portion is limited from the material of the first section by a fold line, and wherein the third section is destined to form the inner sheet, which is to be partially slidable or rotatable in the cover, which inner sheet is partially cut loose from the material of the third section by at least one cut which terminates close to an edge of the piece of planar material, and wherein in the inner sheet a lift-up portion is partially cut loose and is connected along at least one joint to the material of the inner sheet, wherein the third section is folded over the second section, after which the first section is folded over the third section, while the lift-up portion is glued at the part opposite the joint to the pop-up portion and wherein the third and the second section are glued to each other outside of the area of the inner sheet, and the first section is glued to the third section outside of the area of the inner sheet, after which of the folded assembly of the three sections a strip of the planar material is cut loose at the joint of the inner sheet to the third section, in such a way that the inner sheet becomes freely slidable or rotatable from the material of the third section.
  • The invention will now be described further with reference to the drawing of an example of an embodiment.
  • Figure 1 shows a perspective front view of the information slide, wherein the pop-up portion is folded upwards, in the second position.
  • Figure 2 shows a same view, wherein the pop-up portion lies in the first position, in a plane substantially the same as the plane of the front cover sheet.
  • Figure 3 shows a side view of the slide wherein the pop-up portion stands up.
  • The figures 4a, 4b, 5, 6 and 7 show different manufacturing steps of a slide according to the invention.
  • The figures 8, 9 and 10 respectively the figures 11, 12, 13 and 14 show two other examples of embodiments of a slide according to the invention.
  • As is shown in the figures 1, 2 and 3, an information slide in this example of an embodiment is formed by a front cover sheet 1, an inner sheet 2 and a back cover sheet 3. In the front cover sheet 1 an opening 4 is provided, where the inner sheet 2 is exposed. The opening 4 is formed by the partially cutting out of the material of the front cover sheet 1 of the pop-up portion 5, which remains connected along a fold line 6 to the front cover sheet 1. The figures 1 and 3 show the pop-up portion 5 in the second position, wherein the pop-up portion 5 stands in an angle with respect to the plane of the front cover sheet 1. As is shown in figure 4a, out of the inner sheet 2 a lift-up portion 7 is partially cut loose along a line 12 and connected along a fold line 8 to the inner sheet 2. The lift-up portion 7 is in figure 3 in the second position and stands in an angle with respect to the plane of the inner sheet 2 and points upwards through the opening 4 in the cover sheet 1. In this example of an embodiment, the lift-up portion 7 is divided by a fold line 9 in two planes 10 and 11, while the pop-up portion 5 with its back side lies against and is glued to the plane 11.
  • When the inner sheet 2 slides out of the slide the lift-up portion 7, which at first is folded open and lies in the same plane as the plane of the inner sheet, folds together along the fold line 9, whereby the lift-up portion 7 comes to stand in an angle with respect to the plane of the slide and, in the second position, stands up. The pop-up portion 5, which is glued to the plane 11 of the lift-up portion, is pushed upwards by the lift-up portion 7 to the second position, wherein the pop-up portion 5 stands right up.
  • Figure 4a shows a piece of planar material 13 according to the invention. Figure 4b shows a cross section of the planar material of figure 4a according to the line A-A.
When manufacturing the information slide or disc according to the invention a piece of planar material 13 is used, which is divided along two fold lines 14 and 15 in at least one set of three sections 16, 17 and 18, whereby the first section 16 and the second section 17 are destined to form the front cover sheet 1 and the back cover sheet 3 respectively of a cover, and wherein in the first section 16 a pop-up portion 5 is partially cut loose. The pop-up portion 5 is limited from the material of the first section 16 by a fold line 6. The third section 18 is destined to form the inner sheet 2, which is to be partially slidable or rotatable in the cover, which inner sheet is partially cut loose from the material of the third section 18 by at least one cut 19 which terminates close to an edge 24 of the piece of planar material 13, and wherein in the inner sheet 2 a lift-up portion 7 is partially cut loose along the cut 12 and is connected along at least one fold line 8 to the material of the inner sheet 2. When manufacturing the slide, the third section 18 is folded over the second section 17, as is shown in figure 5, after which the third section 18 and the second section 17 are glued to each other in the area 20 outside of the area of the inner sheet 2. After that, as can be seen in figure 6, the first section 16 is folded over the third section 18, while the lift-up portion 7 at the plane 11, the part opposite the fold line 8, is glued to the pop-up portion 5. The first section 16 is glued to the third section 18 in the area 21 outside of the area of the inner sheet, after which of the folded assembly of the three sections a strip of the planar material is cut loose, along the line 23, at the joint 22 of the inner sheet 2 to the third section 18, in such a way that the inner sheet becomes freely slidable or rotatable from the material of the third section 18.
  • The figures 8, 9 and 10 show another embodiment of the slide according to the invention.
  • In figure 8 a piece of planar material 13 is shown whereby in the first section 16 two pop-up portions 5 are partially cut loose and are connected along fold lines 6 to the first section 16, while in the third section two lift-up portions 7 are partially cut loose along the line 12 and are connected at a joint 8 with the material of the third section 18.
  • Figure 9 shows a cross section of the piece of planar material 13 in folded together position along the line B-B of figure 8. The pop-up portions 5 are in the second position, as well as the lift-up portions 7, both of which are glued with their parts 11 to the back side of the pop-up portion 5.
In figure 10 a perspective back view is shown wherein the pop-up portions 5 and the lift-up portions 7 are in the second position and the inner sheet 2 partly has been slided out of the front cover sheet 1 and the back cover sheet 3, and whereby through the opening 4 in the front cover sheet the plane of the inner sheet 2 and that of the back cover sheet 3 are visible.
