Werden die Treibkörper einander genähert, so muß die Dübelhülse b mit ihren -äußeren Rändern zunächst ausweichen, und die Enden werden sich umbördeln, wobei sie eich in das umgebende Mauerwerk eingraben (Abb. q.). Die Aufbördelung ist nur begrenzt durch den Widerstand des sie umgebenden Mauerwerkes. Werden die beiden Treibkörper d und f einander noch mehr genähert, so wird die Hülse b lotrecht zu ihrer Achse aufgeweitet (Abb.5).
