Gegenwärtig besitzen die sogen. Syphons, d. h. die Zuführungsvorrichtungen für das Vergasungsmaterial nach den Oelgasretorten, oben einen offenen Trichter, in welchen das OeI aus dem Ablaufrohr des Oelreservoirs frei einfliefst. Der Oelstand im Syphon entspricht dabei dem gewöhnlichen Gasdruck in der Retorte. Verstopft sich nun einmal der Abflufs vom Syphon nach der Retorte, oder wird durch Verstopfen des Gasabzuges oder sonst einen Umstand der Gasdruck in der Retorte stärker, so füllt das OeI den Trichter des Syphons vollständig an und fliefst über, oder es wird bei plötzlich erhöhtem Gasdruck aus dem Trichter geschleudert. In beiden Fällen besteht die Gefahr einer Entzündung des überfliefsenden Oeles und einer dadurch entstehenden Feuersbrunst, welche die ganze Gasanstalt zerstören kann.Currently own the so-called.
