Abstract

Fluids for removing ink from paper, contain a sulphite, esp Na2SO3 as bleaching agent, with addn. of a water-soluble binder which is water-resistant after drying. Suitable binders are acid polyacrylates dissolved in alkali and/or styrene copolymers. Binder prevents wetting and re-activation of the sulphite when fresh ink is applied. Fluid also contains a levelling or smoothing agent, pref. methyl cellulose, to give a dry surface similar to the paper.

TintenkorrekturmittelInk correction media

Ink correction agents, also ink removers or extinction liquids called, contain sulphurous acid salts as the reducing ink discoloring agent. Sodium sulfite is usually used for this.

It is a known fact and at the same time a considerable disadvantage that areas overwritten or swept over with such decolorizing agents cannot be overwritten again with the same writing fluid. This is due to the fact that the active ingredient used for the reduction (discoloration), sulfurous acid
Salt remains fully effective even after the solvent has dried up. If this point is now overwritten again with the same ink, the liquid that decolorizes this ink is created again with the help of the ink and the game starts all over again.

A possibility had to be sought and found
to prevent the residues of sulphurous acid salts remaining on the paper after the correction fluid has dried, after adding new ones
Moisture (e.g. through inks) to become active again, namely to have a decolorizing effect.

Of course, it has hitherto been possible to overwrite such bleached areas on a sheet of paper with a different type of writing fluid without
that the sodium sulfite bleached them, precisely because the dyes contained therein are not reduced or discolored by sodium sulfite due to their different chemical composition. However, that was cumbersome and dependent on many coincidences and therefore
very in need of improvement.

The invention consists in the fact that the ink decolorizing agent based on sulfuric acid salts by means of reduction,

In order to match this layer surface of the paper even better, it is advisable to make it waterproof add a smoothing agent for this layer surface to the drying, water-soluble binder, for which methyl cellulose is particularly suitable.

Now is a line of ink on a sheet of paper with a ink discoloring agents made in accordance with this invention Medium overcoated, as soon as this correction line dries up, thanks to the water-soluble, but waterproof drying binder in a closed film over the dry residue of the ink decolorizing Means on paper. This film prevents moisture of any kind, e.g. B- from the ink can come into contact with the reducing agent and the reduction, namely discoloration, is initiated again can be. The complete covering and shielding of the residues of the ink decolorizing agent thanks to the binding agent it contains after it has dried, the same place with same ink.
