The chip card, whether in the form of a credit card or insurance card Our modern life has become an integral part of our modern life. The An application possibilities are increasing by leaps and bounds. And thus also the number of Cards in every wallet. The reliability of combi cards and z. B. contactless reusable cards are increasing. But there is always more in the cards Intelligence and storage options. Today are cards with up to 8 KB of EEPROM memory Common to the market, so card chips with up to 64 KByte and above will very soon be common.
This fact opens up a previously unapplied option for the chip card and that as an intelligent mailing device.
The The display itself serves to display money units still available on the chip card e.g. B. for telephoning or for the parking machine. The combination of Microprocessor chip, memory, display and operating elements is suitably assembled, nothing more than a computer system. A chip card with these four elements is provided computer that is easy to transport, handy and powerful Acceptance among the population is constantly increasing. Comes to the four just described Basic components still a device for sending and receiving information In addition, the chip card becomes a network-compatible universal personal com computer system, which the user can always carry with him without effort and attention.
In Fig. 1 all the elements listed above are shown. The card ( 1 ) has the usual dimensions for width, height and thickness for chip cards. In terms of type, it can be a contact-free chip card with a transmitting and receiving antenna ( 8 ) and with all conceivable market functions, and the most widely used card with contacts ( 2 ) is technically possible as a card basis. The controls ( 3 ) are embedded in the card body and arranged so that they can be operated easily. In terms of number, a few buttons will be sufficient. The display ( 4 ), which is also embedded in the card body, allows the display of some lines or simple graphics.
. .) wird ausgeführt.According to the invention, the task initially consisted of exchanging the usual account statement in paper form with a paperless system. Each bank has at least one bank statement printer. Mechanically moving parts for printing are implemented in it. Mechanics also always mean the probability of failure and the need for maintenance. Added to this is the consumption of special paper. The bank customer usually files the statement or destroys it. According to the invention, this task can be achieved by the {multifunctional info chip card} as formulated in the claims. In the operating system of the chip card, software is installed according to the invention which, in cooperation with the display ( 4 ), the keys ( 3 ) and the transmitting and receiving device (contactless or via contacts), exchanges data between the bank terminal ( 5 ) and the chip card ( 1 ) realized. The software can be qualified so that easy-to-use personal financial accounting is possible. Since the data exchange can be bidirectional, e.g. B. also possible personal financial transactions. Already in the design of the invention as an account manager there are many possibilities, the listing of which can only be examples of the further configuration. The possibility of carrying out personal account transactions is currently also possible with the customer terminals that are frequently encountered. However, the {multifunctional info chip card} according to the invention has the advantage, among other things, that the planned transactions outside the bank building, for. B. programmed at home who can. At the customer terminal, the activity is only triggered or activated by the owner. The card is placed in the reader or kept contactless at the terminal and the activity previously programmed in the chip card (account statement, transfer, standing order,...) Is carried out.
Another application according to the invention is outlined in FIG. 2. The bank terminals ( 5 ) are in a network with one or more central bank servers ( 6 ). If a further network connection to other services ( 7 ) is installed outside the banking area in such a way that information (text, data, images, sound) can be stored in the bank terminals ( 5 ), the device according to the invention can advance to a personal universal mailing system. The system has the advantage of great flexibility and easy handling compared to other functionally comparable ones. The design options for this application of the {multifunctional info chip card} are so enormous that only an example should demonstrate this. By installing suitable software in the program memory of the chip card, it is possible to operate personal electronic mailboxes regardless of the network provider. Electronic mail can be read, displayed and stored in the card memory. At the same time, it is possible to send letters or multimedia objects via the bank terminal ( 5 ) to any network ( 7 ). The system according to the invention has the great advantage of personal flexibility over the stationary computer systems and the mobile combinations of radio telephone and notebook.
A further development of the invention can be the general local availability of terminals ( 5 ). For example in train stations, department stores and waiting rooms. A combination with ATMs or with telephone sets in telephone booths is also technically feasible.
The features of the invention presented above represent only the scope of the lot the most diverse design options for a {multifunctional info chip card} the general availability of the invention is a flexible and universal medium available for information management.
