Bei einem bekannten derartigen Wickelmittel besteht die aus nicht quellfähigen Fäden hergestellte, die Schicht aus saugfähigem Material abdeckende Stofflage aus Polyamidfäden. Dieses Ziel wird aber nicht in befriedigendem Ausmaß erreicht. Die Ursache dafür ist darin zu erblicken, daß die für die Stafflage verwendeten Polyamidfäden benetzbar sind. Gemäß Fig. 1 ist eine dreieckige Stofflage 1, bestehend aus einer aus Garn aus nicht benetzbaren Polyvinylchloridfasern hergestellten und als Rippware gearbeiteten Maschenware, entlang der Kante 2 mit einer schmiegsamen Schutzdecke 3 gleicher Form und Größe aus einem gummiähnlichen oder anderen undurchlässigen Material zusammengenäht.
