It was therefore a procedure to create, with the lowest possible, flexible and universally applicable machining effects are made possible each specific to the processing task and the course of the process can be set and adjusted.
According to the invention for the Material processing process or one or more during this process spectral parameters of the laser pulses, d. H. the spectral amplitude and / or the spectral phase and / or the spectral polarization, purposefully changed, defined editing-specific effects, such as the increase the processing speed, improving the material selectivity, or the improvement of surface structuring, to effect. It is advantageous if at least one spectral Parameter dependent a measure from the Machining process, preferably in a control loop, is changed. In the dependent claims are more detailed specifications exemplified.
In this way it is on the one hand possible for the intended processing operation and the intended effect of this material processing to make the best possible adjustment of the spectral laser pulse parameters (for example, based on test results or other experience or calculations). In addition, on the other hand, said spectral laser pulse parameters can not only be preselected defined, but changed and adapted for the material processing process and / or during its execution depending on a controlled variable directly from the processing operation with respect to the intended processing effect. In this respect, it is also possible to react to the change in physical-technical properties of the machining object and the process conditions in the machining process in order to improve or at least not impair the intended processing effect. For example, in the case of material heats, which generally does not affect the material selectivity in machining composites, the spectral amplitude of the laser pulses may be dynamically altered as a function of the interaction of the laser pulses with the composites as a measure. These changes can be carried out either continuously or at intervals directly in the machining process (control mode), as well as with interruption of the machining process and readjustment of the spectral parameters for its continuation.
In particular, allows the simultaneous regulation of the spectral polarization and the spectral Phase in the processing of anisotropic materials the control of that Structuring process for the generation of anisotropic waveguide structures is used, especially known experimental results (F. Korte et al .: "Sub-diffraction limited structuring of solid targets with femtosecond laser pulses ", Optics Express 7, 2000, 41) show that even in laser processing optically isotropic Materials not only a local refractive index change, but in usually also a local anisotropy is induced.
