Description

移动信息终端中的信息 检索装置及其方法
本发明涉及一种信息检索装置及其方法，特别是涉及在移动信息终端中使用指令按钮来检索信息的装置及其方法。
虚拟终端(dummy temial)已经被普遍地用于检索面向正文(text-oriented)的信息。通信技术的发展和信息服务量的增加已经发展到了用软件系统来模仿终端的终端仿真器。目前的终端仿真器可以用来检索面向正文的信息，并用已经被广泛地用于移动信息终端、个人计算机、甚至主计算机等等各种环境区域中。目前使用最多的是笔和鼠标等等指点器。
在信息检索中必须使用指点器(pointing device)，特别是在移动信息终端中不能使用实际键盘的情况下。例如，在诸如个人数字辅助(PDA)的移动信息终端中，用户是通过笔来输入检索指令的。在这种情况下，移动信息终端的内部结构被设计成通过笔来简化输入指令的形式。然而，在通过联机通信来连接外部应用程序时需要一个键盘，特别是在使用面向正文的信息检索服务时更需要这种键盘。
然而，移动信息终端采用软件键盘代替实际的键盘来输入检索指令，因为其输入设备的尺寸是有限的。这种软件键盘通常要占用屏幕的一部分，使其阻碍了在整个屏幕上显示检索的全部数据。因此，操作者需要执行特殊的操作，例如上、下滚动，以便看到整个屏幕上没有显示的部分。
为了解决上述问题，本发明的目的是为移动信息终端提供一种信息检索装置及其方法，使用安装在屏幕上一个预定部分的指令按钮来检索信息。
为了实现上述目的，本发明为移动信息终端提供了一种信息检索装置。移动信息终端接收信息检索指令，从主机上检索信息并且显示该信息，在移动信息终端中的信息检索装置包括一个显示器，一个位置检测器，以及一个控制器。显示器显示根据检索指令用来表示信息的数据显示区和显示一个按钮区，该按钮区一直显示在一个预定位置的有限范围内，并且包括多个按钮，用于输入至少一个用来和主机连接以便检索的指令，用于移动到一个检索区的指令，以及用于选择检索项目的指令。位置检测器检测与用户按下的按钮相对应的位置数据。控制器按照与位置检测器检测到的位置数据相对应的指令从主机上检索信息，并且将检索到的信息显示在显示器的数据显示区上。
为了实现上述目的，本发明为移动信息终端提供了一种信息检索方法，移动信息终端接收信息检索指令，从主机上检索信息并且显示信息，该方法包括一个一直显示在一个预定位置的有限范围内的显示器，并且显示一个按钮区，该按钮区包括多个按钮，用于输入至少一个用来和主机连接以便检索的指令，用于移动到一个检索区的指令，以及用于选择检索项目的指令。该方法包括步骤(a)至(c)。步骤(a)是确定能否检测到对应着按钮的位置数据。步骤(b)是在步骤(a)中确定检测到位置数据时根据对应该位置数据的指令从主机上检索信息。步骤(c)是显示步骤(b)中检索到的信息。
通过以下结合附图对最佳实施例的详细说明本发明的上述目的及其优点更加明显，在附图中：
图1是按照本发明的一个实施例在移动信息终端中的信息检索装置的一个框图；
图2表示显示在图1的显示器上的一例屏幕；以及
图3是按照本发明的一个流程图，表示在移动信息终端中检索信息的方法。
参见图1，按照本发明一个实施例的信息检索装置包括一个检索主机100，一个控制器110，一个显示器120，一个存储器130，以及一个位置检测器140。
显示器120是用来显示信息检索中所需数据的装置，最好是一个LCD或是CRT。显示器120被划分成数据显示区210和按钮区220。数据显示区210根据检索指令来显示信息。按钮区220一直占用显示器120的一个有限部分，并且显示多个按钮，以便输入至少一个用来和主机100连接以便检索的指令，用于变换到一个指定检索区的指令，以及用于选择检索项目的指令。这些按钮是软件形式的按键。
图2表示显示在显示器120上的一例屏幕，它是本地(local)通信业务(UNITEL)的一个初始化屏幕，在屏幕上接收由用户选择的指令。在图2中，标号222是用来和检索主机100连接的按钮，标号224是用于连接UNITEL的按钮，标号226，228和230分别是用于退格，空格和返回功能的按钮，标号232是用来变换检索区的按钮，标号234是用于安装检索和连接所需要的通信环境的按钮，而标号236是一个键盘按钮。
存储器130中存储的指令对应着显示器120上显示的信息和按钮。位置检测器140检测与用户按下的按钮有关的位置数据。控制器110从存储器130中读出与位置检测器140检测到的位置数据相对应的指令，从检索主机100上检索信息，然后将检索到的信息显示在显示器120的数据显示区210上。
以下要参照图2和3来说明图1所示装置的工作方式。
假设用户需要通过UNITEL来检索关于‘GO MBC 2580’的信息。首先要按下连接指令按钮224，在步300中与检索主机100实现连接。如果在步302中确定了连接指令按钮224已经被按下，位置检测器140就检测与按下的按钮相对应的位置数据，并且将结果报告给控制器110。在步304中，控制器110从存储器130中读出与位置检测器140检测到的位置数据相对应的指令，并且执行与检索主机100的连接。如果在步306中按下了变换指令按钮232，‘GO’就被显示在显示器120的数据显示区210上。在按下空格功能按钮228之后，如果按下键盘按钮236，就会显示出一个键盘。该键盘设定了一种模式，仅仅显示英语字母和数字符号，以便尽量缩小显示的键盘在数据显示区210中占用的空间。可以根据需要来设定键盘的模式，使其仅仅显示英语字母，或是仅仅显示韩文字母。输入英语字母‘MBC’，按下空格功能按钮228，然后输入数字‘2580’。当‘GO MBC 2580’被显示在显示器120上之后，键盘就会从显示器120上消失。按下返回功能按钮230。然后，位置检测器150检测与按下的按钮相对应的位置数据。控制器110在步308从存储器140中读出与检测到的位置数据相对应的指令，将检索区变换到‘GO MBC 2580’区。然后在步310中确定是否按下了选择指令按钮。如果确定按下了选择指令按钮，控制器110就在步312中从检索主机100上检索信息，并且将检索到的信息显示在显示器120的数据显示区210上。这种选择指令是用来将信息显示在一个需要检索的具体区域上的指令，例如MBC 2580区。如果使用检索环境设定按钮234将屡次检索的区域存入存储器130，仅需按下一个指令按钮232就能移动到屡次检索的区域。
如果确定已经输入了检索结束指令按钮，就在步314中结束信息检索。
同时，按照本发明的装置可以用一种指点器来输入信息检索指令。假设图2所示的初始化屏幕被显示在显示器120上。标号212代表号(与按下这些按钮时执行的检索指令相对应的)用户可以选择接收所需信息的数据类型的编号。标号214代表由检索主机100提供给用户的一系列指令，也就是用于检索存储数据的指令，或者是用于上、下移动菜单的指令。假设用户输入了图2中所示的一个编号。如果用户需要检索‘新闻/天气’部分，他首先应该指向数据显示区210上的编号‘11’上面的指点器。如果用笔输入一个检索指令，位置检测器140就会检测出用笔指出的位置，将其作为行和列的位置数据。控制器110从存储器130中读出与检测到的位置数据相对应的指令，从检索主机100上检索信息，并且将检索到的信息显示在显示器120的数据显示区210上。
本发明并非仅限于上述的实施例，本领域的技术人员在本发明的精神范围之内显然还可以实现各种变更。在本发明的上述实施例中，可以使用按钮或是指点器来执行信息检索。另外，也可以同时使用按钮和指点器来执行信息检索。不仅如此，按钮区中还可以另外包括各种功能按钮，例如用于菜单上/下功能的按钮，结束按钮，或是用于移动到上或下级菜单的按钮。
按照本发明，通过安装按钮形式的基本指令可以尽量减少使用键盘，用户可以方便地在一个屏幕上显示检索到的信息。另外，如果用指点器来代替键盘，还可以明显地减少用户在输入检索指令时的操作次数。

Claims (8)

1.一种移动信息终端中的信息检索装置，该移动信息终端接收信息检索指令，从主机上检索信息并且显示该信息，所述装置包括：
一个显示器，其显示根据检索指令用来表示信息的数据显示区和显示一个按钮区，该按钮区一直被显示在一个预定位置的有限范围内，并且包括多个按钮，其用于输入至少一个用来和所述主机连接以便检索的指令，用于移动到一个检索区的指令，以及用于选择一检索项目的指令；
一个位置检测器，用来检测与用户按下的按钮相对应的位置数据；以及
一个控制器，按照与所述位置检则器检测到的位置数据相对应的指令从所述主机上检索信息，并且将检索到的信息显示在所述显示器的所述数据显示区上。
2.按照权利要求1的移动信息终端中的信息检索装置，其中，所述按钮区包括一个空格功能按钮，一个退格功能按钮，建立用于检索和连接所需要的通信环境的按钮，一个键盘按钮，以及一个结束按钮。
3.按照权利要求1的移动信息终端中的信息检索装置，其中，进一步包括：
重叠在所述显示器的数据显示区上的一个指示器，并且用一个指点器有选择地指示数据显示区上的信息编号以及与检索的信息相联系的预定指令；以及
一个指示位置检测器，用于检测与所述指示器指示的编号和指令相对应的位置数据。
4.一种移动信息终端中的信息检索方法，该移动信息终端接收信息检索指令，从主机上检索信息并且显示信息，该方法包括一个一直显示在一个预定位置的有限范围的显示器，并且其显示一个包括多个按钮的按钮区，所说按钮用于输入至少一个用来和所述主机连接以便检索的指令、用于移动到一个检索区的指令，以及用于选择检索项目的指令，该方法包括以下步骤：
(a)确定能否检测到对应着所述按钮的位置数据；
(b)在步骤(a)中确定检测到位置数据时根据对应位置数据的检索指令从所述主机上检索信息；以及
(c)显示步骤(b)中检索到的信息。
5.按照权利要求4的移动信息终端中的信息检索方法，其中，还包括以下步骤：
(a)确定能否检测到对应空格功能按钮的位置数据；以及
(b)如果在步骤(a)中确定检测到了所述位置数据，就根据对应所述位置数据的指令执行空格功能。
6.按照权利要求4的移动信息终端中的信息检索方法，其中，还包括以下步骤：
(a)确定能否检测到对应退格功能按钮的位置数据；以及
(b)如果在步骤(a)中确定检测到了所述位置数据，就根据对应上述位置数据的指令执行退格功能。
7.按照权利要求4的移动信息终端中的信息检索方法，其中，还包括以下步骤：
(a)确定能否检测到对应键盘按钮的位置数据；以及
(b)如果在步骤(a)中确定检测到了所述位置数据，就根据对应所述位置数据的指令将一个键盘显示在所述显示器中一个预定位置的有限范围。
8.按照权利要求4的移动信息终端中的信息检索方法，其中，还包括以下步骤：
(a)确定能否检测到对应检索结束按钮的位置数据；以及
(b)如果在步骤(a)中确定检索到了上述位置数据，就根据对应所述位置数据的指令结束对所述主机的检索。
